The Famous Twilight Bowl

First of all, it's Petrino. Second, this was our 3rd bowl win. Several of you posters think we are 1-2 or 1-0 in bowls. We're the only team in FBS who are undefeated with having played 3 or more bowl games. We're also averaging 48.7 points per bowl game. We just played a game on national TV with no other games that day so anyone wanting to watch college football watched us play. Great exposure for the school. Hopefully we'll fire our president and go forward with a plan to keep us in FBS.

The Natives Are Restless
A longer article about this interview, and more, showed up in our local newspaper this morning :)

Some juicy quotes from their QB, Matt Linehan:
ESPN.com said:
... "We belong in FBS, period. That's what I believe, that's what everyone believes," Linehan said during an ESPN Radio interview after Idaho's 61-50 victory over Colorado State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in Boise.
"We know we can compete, we belong here. No matter what anyone thinks, even our tone-deaf president. Maybe he doesn't think we belong here, but I think we belong here," Linehan said moments after earning MVP honors in the win.
... [and more].
The longer article in the newspaper says he apologized later during the team press conference ... said he "got caught up in the moment" with the earlier statement. (Meaning, of course, that he said what he really thought. )

And since they won their first Bowl game....Petrine is as good as gone..
Pretty poorly informed.... Idaho won the Humanitarian bowl game in 2009 on this same field. Petrino has one more year on his contract and could use another positive year to boost his marketability. He's now 15-33 at Idaho, his only HC gig. Idaho's series with Montana favors the Vandals 55-27-2. They sent a strong message to the MWC last night.

...and the BSC. They will finish near the top of the conference in short order...
