Saw this online this morning, the history and growth of our stadium. Pretty cool!

Says that Champion's Center should be completed by the "start of 2017." Sounds pretty optimistic.

I took pictures Monday and all you could see (granted from outside the fence) was some excavated dirt. Long ways to go. :thumb: I can't wait to see it, it's going to be the coolest thing since since Baskin-Robbins.

Love the photo of the 94 playoff game against McNeese State. Old school Monte and snowy endzones with "Go Griz" in the NEZ and "one more time" in the SEZ.

Wilburger, Gurnsey, Baker, and Larson were hero's that day. One of the most memorable games in WaGriz, IMO

The fact that there aren't foundations/footings formed yet would concern me. I haven't lived in zootown in 40 years, but didn't think that winters had morphed into banana republic events. Got to start getting things going before the weather preempts the build.

The start of the 2017 season.
I did note the "editing" change in the original. Even adding 8 months still seems ... optimistic.

I lived the the beginning of the change of Dormblazer to Washington-Grizzly stadium as a student at the time. We had a strong FB team in '69 and '70 at that time. We went to the Camillia Bowl both years. Both years we lost to UNDSU. I didn't get back to UM till my son went to UM in 2003. What a beautiful facility. When I attended UM there were only about 3K attendees +/- per FB game & viewing the game was horrible from the student section. Even from the alumni section in the end zone now the viewing is very good.

Great to be a Griz.
