The Defense.....

Held NAU to a total of 19 yards in the first half. 19 yards!! Then a couple "here I'll throw this up and you catch it" strikes made a game of it. The D still made some huge stops and held them to 270 yards on the day. This defense is our saving grace and they will continue to keep us in every game.
 
The defense has performed very well this year and really has made up for the lack of efficiency on offense.

I am worried about our DL holding up all season. Those guys are playing an awful lot of snaps and many of them aren't 100% healthy.

True. Other then the first half of the Liberty game which was horrible, this is a very true statement.....

I'm sure we'll get beat by 200 points. Unless, of course, that team has no defense.

My afterthought was they didn't take advantage of the Butler mismatches for the entire first half (or we may have lost), but someone who watched more closely *cough* probably Brint *cough* could weigh in.

Their young QB was 2nd in all of FCS in QB rating at 211.1. They were averaging 300 passing yards per game and over 30 points. Maybe that's not a "real" passing team though. Certainly not an EWU or MSU but not bad.

We'll see what happens when that "real passing team" plays a team with a "real defense". Ought to be a good one.

I think the game this year will be a real battle.
