The crap that gets posted around here sometimes...

Lol. I'm a Brady fan, but he played like garbage in the first half. He looked completely lost. He held on to the ball and danced around the pocket like that is something he is capable of doing. Pass it off on the OL if you want to, but it's on him and the coaches know that as well. No sugarcoating it, he signed up for criticism when he accepted a scholarship to play here. That may not be fair, but it's the reality of the sports world. Play like sh*t and people will call it like it is.

Luckily for us, Brady largely redeemed himself with his play in the second half, but we will get absolutely ROLLED by UNI next week if Brady has a half like that again.

I don't know why everyone is all tied up in knots. The first game of the season is all about adjustments. If Stit isn't the (guy) then maybe the outcome would have been different. Players are nervous, coaches are frantic, and fans are neurotic. It was the first game of the season and they won! Hopefully the next game will have the same outcome without so much drama!

SFU was playing their first game of the season, too ... three quarters of the way across the country ... in a "hostile" environment ... and they seemed more comfortable with the situation than the Griz.

It's a cliche, but that's because it reflects the truth: SFU had "nothing to lose"in this contest. Under the circumstances, anything short of a blow-out could be considered a "win" for their program. The players probably didn't feel that way, but I suspect the coaches did ... and I'm pretty sure the fans saw it that way (based on not very many comments, admittedly). But no matter what the Griz coaches and players might say out loud, it seems pretty clear they (subconsciously, at least) took their opponent lightly. When they figured out they might lose, they played with much more intensity and focus. Of course, by then, they'd given the Red Flash hopes of an upset, so they amped it up even further. But emotion only goes so far and the Griz finally wore them down (mostly). That's my take ... although we haven't yet be able to bring ourselves to re-watch our recording of the game.

Nope, can't agree. BG didn't play like garbage in first half. Fumbled twice and threw a pick. Ran the team well. Didn't looked lost in the least (GG, this is an indication that you never played the game; dumb comment). Didn't hang onto the ball and dance around; was just trying to make a play and had confidence in himself and his protection.Think he was about 8-14 passing. Had a few runs.

No, no player at UM's level signs up for criticism.

Make dumb comments like you just did, and posters like myself will call it like it is--to quote you. I like you GG, and like your family, but I'm getting tired of your dumb comments like this. Don't think I'm going to continue to sit back like I have in the past. If you continue to post crap like this, we'll see if you can take the heat in the kitchen.

Did FSU win? I didn't scout them to find out how many returning players, how many seniors, or how many star players players were on the team. I did hear they had a great kick return. They didn't prove that wrong. Was I impressed by the first half of the Griz, not exactly, but I did see improvement. The running game picked up, with a great push of the offensive line, thus giving Gus a little more time to make better decisions and get a bit more comfortable in the pocket. I think the Griz need to focus a little more on special teams or just kick it out of bounds. It looked like most of the players where looking for contact and not the ball. What say you?

2 fumbles
1 INT
6 points

Against a 45 scholly team from a notoriously inferior conference.

Other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?

This one is just fresh in your head so it seems like the worst at the moment. I'm sure BobcatNation seemed like the worst to many concerned bobcat fans the day Bleskin turned it over a ton against the Griz. Did yo see that thread? The mods had to "Take back bobcat nation" and threaten bans over how bad that one got.

I'm not big on the name calling or personal insults against players, never have been never will be. But again people say shit they normally wouldn't in the heat of the moment in a game thread.

The "meh" part is probably because he turned it over 4 times as well. 5 touchdowns is great. 4 turnovers is not.

Uhh... It's always been this bad. I am constantly saying it and this board is a mockery to even the griz nation. I know plenty of people including former players such as Tripp, Tru and what not and they know about this board and they think it is full of a bunch of retards.

the "meh" part is them failing to admit they're wrong, which is common human nature but more-so on this board. Sure Gus turned it over, it's the first game of the season but if you're crediting Gus with all 4 turnovers then I welcome you to take your eyes off the QB for a second and realize in front of the QB's and the halfbacks is this thing called the O-line and our O-line was the cause of at least one of those fumbles if not both.

So stop reading and posting then. Gawd you're a whiner.

And only one poster that I saw used "douche." I don't agree with it, but to start threads about it is just naiive.

Love your histrionics tho.

how is my posts whining but ALL the ones I linked not?

also I don't think this word means what you think it means. Maybe you are slightly naive about the word naive ;)

No, it means exactly what I think it does. Let me see if I can help: It's naiive to start a thread complaining about people complaining for a couple reasons. That's what people do here. That's pretty much what it's for, this forum--for people to express their thoughts and opinions about Griz football, much of it with which you will not agree. To think that starting the thread is going to have some kind of meaningful impact on the posting behavior of the individuals you're disgusted with seems pretty naive to me, but thanks for the impromptu English lesson. Saving us from ourselves is noble though.

My issue was largely with the fact that you pluralized. It was one dude.

We good...

Or, you can concentrate on getting the crap-posters to stop posting their crap, or get the crap-posters to quit posting. That would be my vote. She's not whining. She's saying what you thinks. Can't wait for more of your crap.

 That's a nice piece of irony there. And it's back to the Glenlivet for your fancy ass...

I sure hope that everyone posting crap about interior teams coming out to play this little game of football has been paying attention to the national scores. Lots of turmoil and upsets.

1. I don't think anyone would classify this forum as being here just to bitch and complain. It is for discussing football, no "discussion" was taking place.

2. I never posted this thinking it would have an impact. I just like making fun of the retardation that comes through here sometimes. AKA Alpha insisting Kroy is the best Griz in the NFl right now  . Or AZ thinking Tripp wasn't going to get drafted.

3. I'm sorry what exactly did I pluralize? I quoted at least 5 different people

You wrote "you guys." It was ONE DUDE. That seemed whiny to me, but hey I'm just some dude on the Innertubes, don't let that trouble you Grasshopper. Nobody else used "douche" in relation to Gus, unless I missed something. I agree, that's some "retardation" there.

Also, I said it's for people to post their "thoughts and opinions." Not just complaining, per se. Yeah, occasionally there's a "football discussion." Obviously I never played the game (We should get some special eGriz t-shirts printed that have that slogan emblazoned across the chest before that lawyer dude tries to trademark it).<<<seriously, someone should look into that. Maybe Willy or someone else can get a nice rendering up for us.

Good to see you're not as PC as I once thought. :thumb:

I'm with '75 on this one, this thread is ridiculous. Gus was horrible in the first half but redeemed himself in the second half. Jury is still out. If you don't like emotional posts (which is ironic), stop logging onto eGriz!
