The dark gray color will blend in nicely with the cloud covered sky in late fall and winter and the smoke filled sky like today. Figure about half the year.

If you're referring to me, I'm not bitching about the color, I was just hoping it would be a lighter shade. It's like the neon green lingerie I ordered for my wife online. Got delivered in kelly green. Still glad it exists.

You can work on some aspects of punting, like timing and contact. You just won't see the ultimate height, and distance of the kick. Direction you can estimate. Ask any punter if they'd prefer practicing in the dome in the winter or -10 outside.
Most indoor facilities around the country aren't tall enough to punt. Even places like Oklahoma aren't tall enough. I've seen multiple videos of their punter attempting to punt in there and he's constantly hitting the rafters

Rationalization. Well, the contractor could prefer to deflate it completely and have his employees crawl under and install the lights, on their back, as one has suggested(I loved that one!)

Based solely on the history of this Boondoggle, my guess is yet another contractor f*ckup. But, I'm not a contractor, so this is pure speculation on my part. Grand Opening was projected for mid-September. Today is September 14. BUT, they didn't stipulate the year. Looks like they are comfortably ahead of schedule for that 2025 event.

Checking it out last evening, it looks much brighter and cleaner. I suspect the brought it down to give it a good scrubbing.
