The Bubble Cluster-F

The turf field was laid down before the subsurface was fully dried and it was not properly draining. The turf has been totally removed and they are working with heavy equipment to replace the subsurface. They are moving lots of dirt. After it is properly dry, the turf field will again be put in place. Is this the definition of a Cluster-F??

I was out there watching them work and was told by one of the workers. If you are in Missoula, go by and see. I can't imagine what this is costing.
I actually drove by yesterday and saw that. Couldn’t figure out what was going on and there was no one around to ask. Hopefully it’s not costing too much extra, and facility rentals could probably pay for that. Did they say when they’d have the turf re-installed by?

I wouldn’t worry about financial issues, as I’d imagine the contractor (or their insurance company) will be on the hook for cost overruns associated with improperly preparing the subsurface. The larger issue looming is the facility was to be fully operational in order for the team to practice while WGS is set up for the 4 summer concerts.

Good point, or just practice outside, like up at Dornblaser. When does "camp" usually break, and then team moves from Dornblaser to in or near stadium?

Yep, if the contract didn’t follow approved plans, the hooks in them and there insurance. Know what type of inspections might be required of the base, not sure. I’d assume the engineer had some special inspection notes for such. But I’d have to see the plans to know for sure!

If the smoke gets horrible, which hopefully it won't, it would be nice to have the Bubble useable.

It's ironic that it was stated they wanted to take their time to make sure it got done right (since it wouldn't affect the earliest need of it) but now it supposedly has issues and because of the procrastination (or taking the foot off the pedal) it might actually affect that very issue.

UM is trying to slow this down, so they don’t get too far ahead of the Cats.
