If I undertand correctly the kid pitching last night can't play Saturday. Does Montana have another pitcher for the championship? Also, does the winner of the losers bracket have to beat Montana twice?
I went down to the Tamarack and watched the game last night. The place was going nuts.

I think Zimmer will go saturday. He's very good and beat Louisiana last sunday. Not sure If McKenzie can go on sunday or not if they make it to the final. Alpha would know, he coached most of these kids in baseball and football.

Alpha?

Yes, his dad just sent me a text saying that Patrick will start on Saturday. Sunday if we get there will be tough because I dont think Cole can go. We do have Ian Leatherberry, Gabe Sulser, Jet Campbell and the closer Sean Jones that have pitched a bunch this year, but they are not in the category of Zimmer and Mackenzie.

The nice part of all this is now the batters have seen the pitchers. This will be a great game. If the Cali player said what some say he did it puts a monkey on their back. Come on Billings!!!!

Cole is done for rest of the World Series. They mentioned that when he threw his 85th pitch. As someone that has coached all stars at this level, and Juniors, Billings has 2 things that works in their favor against anyone. (1) They are composed, and never panic. I honestly have never seen a more composed LL All Star team, top to bottom. Whatever this staff has done for this team, needs to be taught to every Montana LL team before the season even begins. (2) They play awesome defense.

Those 2 things will always make for a great team at all levels of baseball.

Bring home the big prize boys...........GO MONTANA!!!!!!

Did I hear the Cali kid correctly in the post game interview? When asked about facing their friends from Montana ..."I know we're gonna win"

I think the friendship ended when their pitcher tripped Sulser.

C'mon boys, win this mother f'er.

I was facebooking with my buddy in CA, it was so funny, the minute that trip occurred, he posted on his wall. "F... CA, GO Montana!" He even pulled for PA against CA. That totally pissed him off, especially after all the classless BS in LA and SF this summer. He is SO ready to leave CA, once and for all.

While I understand the sentiment, I hope that both the boys from Billings and from California recognize enough to leave the competition on the field and remain friends.

Friendship's that derive from this kind of scenario can last a lifetime. The trip was a cheap shot and I hope that the CA coaches did talk to that kid. But to throw those friendships out the window because of that play would be against everything that Little League Baseball, and indeed all of athletic competition stands for!

I hope the MT kids are using it to give them an edge. Hell, never mind, just keep doing what they are doing has been successful, why change?

:new: Hey eGrizzers! I've been reading threads here for several years now, and finally decided to become a member, and thought I'd chime in!

After watching the Montana Little Leaguers play, I've got to say that was an amazing finish to that game! I had a lot of pride seeing those boys represent Montana the way they did! I was bouncing off the walls when they won! And they played and won with nothing but class!

Did anyone see the article on Bleacher Report? Before the Montana/California game, a writer named Brandon Galvin wrote an article bashing the Montana Little Leaguers saying that Montana had no business being in the tournament and that it was pathetic that California had to play Montana. Galvin promptly removed that article offline after Montana beat California... I hope our boys finish off California on Saturday!!

Yeah, sure...their coach (i use that term loosely) wouldn't even talk to the media after the game.

It was the coaches kid, so yeah, I don't think there was any talk given - like father like son. Same kid also appeared to intentionally cleat the short stop when he was thrown out at second. Pretty sure he is playing like he was taught. hopefully Saturday officials will be watching for stuff like that a little closer - I expect the kid who hit the home run to get beaned first thing.

Yeah I thought that was pretty pathetic. I bet if they win on Saturday he will be all smiles and talking to the media. I hope Montana smokes them again. The pressure is on California now though, Billings should play with nothing to lose (And keep running those bases AGGRESSIVE as every run is going to be KEY).

That is a lot of pressure on these Billing's kids with each win. Good luck to them.

Keep winning with class!

Go Montana/Big Sky/Billings Little League!

Glad I wasn't the only one who saw the cleat incident.

I am hoping for a Sunday rainout from Irene so Cole can pitch on Monday :D :D :D

To qualify as a Bleacher Report blogger requires nothing more than having a pulse. (See their page begging for BR reporters) Being somewhat familiar with Galvin I can safely say that his claim to being a reporter is no greater than mine was as a PBP guy when at the age of six I used Mom's hairbrush for a microphone. Maybe somebody'll send Ol' Gavin a Big Sky IPA to wash down the crow.
