The blonde female ref was bad

I'm trying to remember that referee's number and I just can't. And nether can anyone else, I suspect. You could say the position she held, but who knows the difference between a back judge, umpire or referee? Some but not all. So you are left with physical identifiers to describe the the particular ref you are pointing out making the bad call(s). Perfectly fine and non-sexist.

The DEI cross-reference is what brings into question your motivation. Given the additional information about her background, showing a lack of experience for a playoff assignment, probably warranted in this circumstance.

Overall I thought the crew was in over its head. Just right for a Big Sky playoff game.

This is just not true.

Most complaints just refer to “the refs” missing a call, or if specified the specific official position. In my many decades of watching CFB, I have never heard someone say “The redhead male ref missed that call.”

If she did get elevated from a lower level for the game it is more likely that she was rewarded for solid officiating at the lower level than hired for gender preference.

I hope she learns from this mistake and learns and grows. I sure hope she just doesn’t double down on a bad take.

I don't see where Hoops said anything worse about this ref than any other refs...all he stated was the blonde female so people would know who he was referring too. I guess if there wasn't a blonde female and all males, he could have said, " the blonde haired, short, tall, fat, heavy set, ref dude was horrible." People need to stop being so sensitive, geez....

Remember the bad ref we had in the Big Sky who wore the thick framed glassed, black hair, skinny as a rail? He hated the Griz and it showed. I remember almost every poster making statement about him and no one cried...

What a terrible call by the official that threw the flag on Lee for DPI. That official was bad all game.

reinell, do you know which official that I was referring?

Nope. You miss the point completely. Feel free to criticize refs for their calls, but to tie their calls to their gender is beyond the pale.

If it was about the call, you would have talked about the call, and not her gender (or hair color - puke). You wouldn’t have brought up her gender in the thread title or made the DEI hire crack.

I’m sure you were sitting with a female ref, that is some coincidence. Did you tell her she was a DEI hire too?

If you had any self respect (which is different than ego btw) at all, you would admit the implicit bias in your post and apologize. Grow and learn. Be introspective. I’m not going to hold my breath though.
I said her gender only to identify her. I like female refs, when they are good or pretty good or not bad. She had a blonde pony tail, so she was easy to identify. The ref next to me was/is a top level ref. A post saying "One Ref Made an Especially Bad Call" was not what I was shooting for.

There was zero bias in my post. The bias is in your posts. And, you need to realize that the Dems got beat recently. Do-gooder woke people like you are in the minority. Go home and lurk.

And the DEI hire crack?

Condoning this mysogony is how it continues. Pretty sure that if he had asked if a black ref that missed a call was a DEI hire people would think he was a racist … and rightfully so.

I don’t subscribe to team politics, which is irrelevant to this thread and your blatant misogyny anyway.

You could have identified her by her officiating assignment, but maybe you don’t know enough about football ;)

So, you still believe in DEI? There was no misogony whatsoever in my post. I have been a huge supporter of women in my life and in my profession. Won awards for it.

That is part of my recent points to you. You have assumed something, but you have no way of knowing and you are wrong. Missogny is not the same as racism. I know what racism is and am Native American. Please don't try to tell me what racism is.

Mr Lurker, I am happy to argue with you forever, if that's what you want. I have a lot more time and knowledge, than you do. So, let me know.

Believe in? Like the Easter Bunny?

I would love to see your women-support awards! Maybe post a pic of the trophy or something.

Misogyny and racism are both forms of bias. I didn’t call you a racist. I made a hypothetical scenario as a comparison to demonstrate how ridiculous your misogynistic take was. And I stand by it.

Don’t want to question DEI, or sexism,
Why the hell not? Competence based is BAD? Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion should override incompetence, just because she is a woman? Evidently, the BSC doesn't have the market cornered on bad officiating.

A picture of hoops in a women-supporting awarded Tee-Shirt would be a start. Worked for Steve, right?
I kid! I kid!
