The blonde female ref was bad

I want to see video of her PI call on Griz (25?) in north end zone area. It looked like the receiver just into and over the Griz. A clear offensive PI, from what I saw. I was sitting with a longtime ref who said it was offensive PI. Why didn’t the rest of the crew override her? Because she’s a woman? DEI at its worst.

Yeah it did look like the receiver just into'd and over'd the Griz! An old Ivy League play!

Don’t want to question DEI, or sexism, but how the hell did they get a free timeout on their conversion attempt?

Either they should have had a delay of game penalty or they burned a timeout. Instead they enjoyed about three minutes to clean up their confusion, get multiple players off the field, and then kick an extra point. No penalty. No timeout. Ultimately didn’t matter. Though it just seemed very bizarre how that unfolded.

And what the heck was the reason for stopping the Griz play on the 2. I think we fumbled on the next play.

Except for about a quarter or 1.5 quarter, I thought the refs were generally good. But they went off the rails for that shorter period of time.

I don’t think the rules read this way, but receivers almost always get way more leeway in working through defenders. That call wasn’t really out of the ordinary for any official, regardless of gender. In regard to the widespread shortage of officials, the I part of DEI seems like a good thing.

No, it is offensive PI for running
into a defender like that. Textbook O PI. Again, I need to see the play again. Football doesn’t need unqualified refs.

If you want to focus on refs; Bridges caught the ball, Drew Deck was hit about a yard out of bounds on a reception, the 15 yard penalty on Eddie George's kid did not exist, and Fife got smacked in the head after a pass attempt (that if it had happened to Tom Brady would have resulted in jail time for the DE and possibly a mea culpa from the White House).

Something about the officials weren't set yet.

It was baffling, the ref asked for the game clock to be set to 10:17, which is exactly what the scoreboard showed.

I saw 2 and probably 3 other plays where our receivers received early contact. And no call.

My comment was more nuanced than you took it. Yes, it probably was OPI. But most officials call it more lenient for the receiver than the defender. That's just the way it goes. Remember Tee Higgins' TD catch against Jalen Ramsay in the Super Bowl a couple years ago? And if we're going to "unqualify" officials for any judgement call that is dicey, well that's the end of competitive athletics.

Got it.

You need to confirm if the call was wrong, but not before publicly crucifying the trained official as an unqualified DEI hire? She's unqualified because your surface-level crusade to play the victim in a victory revealed she's a woman and fallible? The vast majority of potentially-incorrect-upon-pending-review calls were made by men, right? So, statistically speaking, you're trying so hard to fit the world to your one-dimensional narrative that you've contorted your head up your own hoop?

The real DEI action here is allowing posting after 1 a.m. without a breathalyzer. It's a real pat on the head.

This was an exciting, historic, improbable win. One (make that two) last tastes of the magic with Bergen and the crew. It was a hell of a time in the stadium for us who showed up. Can we celebrate and share joy instead of coiling in fear and hatred for one night? Maybe even one day? Hell, a week before being fed to SDSU?

It's been a long season. We deserve this one.

...anything can happen Michigan toppled Ohio State...upsets do happen..
it could happen next week...trying to focus on the positive...seems like
were one click away...

I see that she came out of an organization that officiates intramural leagues and games. I said she was bad. I didn’t crucify her. She was hesitant in multiple situations. My view wasn’t based on one calll. She was easy to spot.

Saying a ref was bad is not something unusual or horrible. Refs are called out by someone after many games.

Our win was not “improbable”.

I had 1 beer yesterday. Maybe you should apologize. Your ranting post makes me wonder if you need the breathalyzer.

Man, you said alot of dumb things in one post.
