The Big Sky Conference: Oregon's Farm System

But this was bound to happen, with the technology in sports and camps and training these kids do now adays, there are just waaaaay more good football players across the country. Talent at the FCS level is now better because theres only so many FBS schools to pick these kids up. They go FCS with FBS talent. Its not rocket science.

Prukop also bumped into Marcus Mariota, who was back watching practice with some NFL buddies.

“It’s cool seeing him around,” Prukop said. “At Montana State, there weren’t many Heisman winners standing around, hanging out.”

Hell, there aren't even many NFL'ers hanging around, let alone Heisman winners.

OH YEAH!!! We had an ex-bobcat/NFL Hall of Fame Player hanging around just last week (a kicker...BUT STILL)

Ya also heard the kicker got the kids so fired up that Choate had to stop practice and scream at them to pick up the intensity....I thought that was the type of thing your new D coordinator was supposed to handle???

Prukop is a hell of a lot better athlete than Adams and he's a better QB. More size and a lot better arm. Adams was one of the most over hyped players I have ever seen.

Did you ever watch him play? I watched him in several games he is pretty good.

Prukop's accuracy is not even close to that of Adams. He is a better runner than Adams; not a better passer. Adams beat our asses four times; Prukop zero.[/quote

It is a team sport. One player does not make a team.

Prukop could not make a very mediocre team any better. Adams did make his team better.

I thought that rummy Swede was 'band' from the msu campus after repeated arrests for panhandling for liquor money.

I guess the Oregon coaches disagree with you!

I guess you don't get that it takes a team. One player is not responsible for a TEAMS record. The Oregon coaches are excited about Dakota and his abilities and leadership. They disagree with you.

How did eastern do last year without Adams. Eastern had a terrible defense when Vernon was running the show. Eastern knew they had to out score there opponents to win and Adams was the difference
maker. Cats have a terrible defense and have to out score there opponents to win. Same scenario for both
TEAMS. Eastern and Adams were successful - Cats and Prukop were not.

So if Vernon Adams played for Easter last year, he would not have made a difference for the TEAMS record?
I guess you really don't get it and probably never will.

Don't know about Easter but Prukop is not the Second Coming.

With Adams, a win at Oregon is possible (assuming Lockie would have started had Adams not transferred or even if he transferred elsewhere) but against UNI, it's probably 50/50. EWU did have some great QB play until last half of the season, when for some reason the wheels fell off for West - in a big way. So yes, having Adams would have meant EWU likely beats PSU and the drubbings by UM and NAU could have shaken out much different. Then again, having solid QB play with all the tools available on the EWU offence would have also made the difference even if it isn't Adams.

You still don't get it. The Oregon coaches disagree with your evaluation. Also, Alabama as they wanted him too. They both feel that Prukrop is a talented QB with good leadership skills. I will take their evaluations over the amatuers on a message board.

You will never get it...Cats had a losing record last year. Prukrop or no Prukrop Cats would have a losing
Season. Adams is a difference maker he proved it at Eastern and at Oregon. How did eastern do last year without Adams? Prukrop has not proven that he Is a difference maker. He is a good quarterback and nobody said he wasn't, but Adams has proven he is the guy on the field. Maybe Dakota will do it this year and I hope he does. The discussion started about Adams has proven he is the guy and Dakota has not. I know this is subjective but you can back it up with Win-Loss record. The Oregon coach talk is all you. Maybe you can start a new thread over on you amateur message board about Oregon Coaches. Good luck to Dakota......
