If I knew that I would have stated it but your reasons are not logical.Why would a coach leave for the same pay and to go coach to a bottom end FBS school that is going nowhere? You want to fall in line like the and believe that everything was easily explained and not question it.You are certainly a good sheeple.
So, you have no idea what the reason was, but when multiple people explain it to you, you are just sure it isn't true.... I'll give it one more try and walk you through it step by step.
1) Why do you think it is the same pay? Bobby Hauck makes 1/3 what their head coach does. Western Michigan's total coaches pay is $6 million. At U of M, the total coaches pay is $4.3 million. Seems like they are paying coaches more out there.....
Also, even if it was the same pay, then it would still be a net raise because cost of living is significantly lower there. Forbes reports housing is 50% less in Kalamazoo than in Missoula. Cost of goods is 15% less.
Where are you getting your thought that it is illogical from?
With all of the above information, there is every logical reason to believe that Joe Pawlak is netting more money by being out there.
2) It has been explained to you many times, but yes, simply having "FBS" on your resume is better than having FCS on your resume for a young coach. There is a perception that it is higher level football, and that's just the truth.
How often do you see an FCS coordinator move up to a head coaching job in the FBS? Almost never. How often do you see an FCS position coach suddenly move up to be an FBS coordinator? Almost never.
Jeff Choate notably moved backward in terms of job title in order to move up to the FBS so that he could get an FBS head coaching job. It is rare for FCS coaches to make forward progress in their job title when moving to the FBS, but it is relatively common for FBS guys to be able to make those moves upward within the FBS.
It makes a difference. Covering your eyes and just saying "it doesn't make sense" does not, in fact, mean that it isn't true.
