The 2-deep is out

You are not very smart. I try with you, but you're just not. Literally I'd venture to guess i doubt anyone, and I literally mean anyone, that watched any amount of fall camp is surprised that Monte isnt listed on the two deep at returner. Doesn't mean he didn't get some reps at returns during camp. But hes a freshman. Promising, yes. But hes got two very well established and talented seniors listed ahead of him, which makes total sense.
Finally something we agree on!

To me, to say they are "reloading" is to imply success from a season ago.

They are coming off yet another mediocre season....another drubbing by the cats....another early playoff exit. I really like this roster, but how is this anything but a rebuild?
I'm not sure what you had to add "another" mediocre year, after we had been to the national championship game the year before. But your reload point being tied to prior year success, kind of matches up with rebuilding coming off a mediocre year. The words obviously don't have clear meanings, and mean different things to different people. I like remodeling, having now seen that from CDA. I think remodeling seems to be right up there with pole.

Loving the mental gymnastics floor competition I started. This is fantastic good-natured quibbling to get the season started of right! Let's hope we don't have a bye week letdown or bye week hangover. Judges?

I am genuinely concerned about having a week less of practice and one less game to start the year. I'm sure we will be fine against Central Washington, but when we play UND they will having challenged and competed with a Big 12 team in a close game and then a tune up with Portland State, plus an extra week of practice before we even got started. I am actually a little worried there will be a "lack of bye week hangover," if that makes sense.

I don't think it's a big deal. If we played UND this week and CWU next week then I'd definitely be concerned. This team will be ready to go for UND next week.

I am deeply hopeful you are right. I'm probably just a little shook after the UND loss last year. People talked me down because they are so much better at home, then they go to K State and give them a run.

UNH will be playing its 4th game of the season when it plays Dartmouth on Sept. 20 in Dartmouth's first game.

I've been thinking about the Ivies now being eligible for the playoffs. I'm wondering is if they'll ever get at large teams into the playoff field or just the conference champion. They have historically only played 10 games per year where other FCS schools play 11 to 12 games per year and starting next year can play 12 games every year. If you have teams that have only played 10 games versus teams that have played 12, it's hard to compare whose record is better. It just seems a little inequitable to me.

I guess that I will have to quit whining about our schedule with the Week 1 bye and then 12 straight games !!!

Dartmouth schedule wise is at least in a distinct disadvantage that first game against New Hampshire: NH will have already played a quarter of its season going into that game, assuming NH is playing a 12 game season like us.
