Thayne Jackson

The concussion CTE thing is causing a downward spiral for football. The future is not bright.

Sorry bro. Meant it tongue in cheek, but didn't give any clues that was what it was.

I know it's the same strength coach.

I don't disagree one bit. There are other sports like Lacrosse popping up as well and it is drawing kids away from football in many cases. Don't forget to factor in the political mess the NFL is in with protests and their handling of CTE as well. I just don's see the sports future as being bright.

Tough one to see go. Amazing leader and a go getter. Not to mention extremely talented and a force on the O Line. But alas, there’s more to life than football and I wish him the best of luck. Next man up!

The "BIGGEST" lost player yet. Gonna miss having a Yeti on the line. Best of luck to you Thayne. Hope you heal well and have blessed future.

Good luck to the young man. Lots of living to do after football.👍👍

This is the most sensible thing I've ever read on this site. :thumb:

I always thought the public service announcements EVG does for Schick-Shau... were well worthwhile myself. But this is good too.

Also declining enrollment in college.

Enjoy this game while we can gents. I have a feeling it will look a lot different in 10-15 years.

UCSB was gifted a 30,000 seat soccer stadium under the stress of Financial and Title IX issues...with the folding it's Football program...Heard nothing but Good things about Thayne. Glad he's concerned about his future....

I Hear that Wa. Griz makes for a good concert venue...Is it big enough for soccer??

It’s a huge reality in 2018 and the future.

Look at what happened in Maryland?

These kids are starting to see the cost of playing the game. Even if it means losing the scholarship.
It’s only money baby!

Lots of These kids don’t have the Ol’”do it at all cost” rah rah mentality, like the early years. They are educated about the risks of the game. It will be interesting to see how this game evolves.

I will say this. Lots of crap happens like it did in Maryland. Only we don’t see. Fortunetly these kids are starting to wise up.

I tend to agree re: the probable decline in football participation and attendance. Makes me wonder the wisdom of Las Vegas investing so much into construction of a $2 billion stadium for the Raiders.
