Got to admit that both the Beartooth and cresting Ravalli Hill are incredible. I just like the Yaak River Valley better, partially because it isn't as well known.

True. Lots of great drives in our state.

I like the Yaak too. Where I carved my initials on a rafter in the Dirty Shame on the way to ROTC Advanced Camp at Fort Lewis is covered now. At least my initials are still showing on the bar in the Jack on Graves Creek though...lots of places in this state that you can still get away from everybody...like the Pony Bar...

One of my favorites, other than the blue and yellow shit on the walls...

Anyone attend/listen to the Coaches' shows today? Shannon stated that the trip through Zion was an unscheduled error due to the bus driver taking a wrong turn. She then went on to explain that they never would have done it otherwise as travel on that trip is brutal enough without adding 90 minutes to the trip.

And Coach Cobb talked about the terrible travel on that trip and others in the bsc both during the coaches show today, as well as on his podcast with Colter and that other guy.

But then what do they know? They're probably bad fans.

Yes. I was at the coaches show. I was personally a bit surprised to hear that coaches consider the Colorado-North Dakota trip the worst, by far. Something I hadn't considered is that players rarely get outside on the bus trip to Grand Forks because it's always so cold. He described the predicted temperature in North Dakota on Friday-Saturday as being a balmy +1 (usually it's been below zero).

Journal, with all due respect, travel is NOT difficult in this conference. You can't trust what all of the coaches say repeatedly; you gotta ask those who "know".

I won't argue the "travel difficulty" issue. However, I do believe that every team should encounter the same (equitable) playing conditions at specific venues. This year that's not the case with the NAU/SUU and Northern Colorado/North Dakota trips. The teams that play (played) in Cedar City and Grand FORKS  on Saturday get 5-7 fewer hours less of rest/prep time than the schools which play in Flagstaff/Greeley. It may not seem like a big deal, but for a team that has to get up at 6 a.m. for a game-day shoot around & film session (as opposed to 11 a.m.) it becomes an issue. This is an issue that's plagued the Big Sky for quite some time. Kudos to those schools that have always ensured equitable facility & scheduling conditions for all visiting teams.

Actually, I DO believe (and trust) many of the coaches' stories of life on the road in the Big Sky.

Agree 100%. Simply cannot understand anyone who doesn't comprehend this.

Oops! I made a mistake. My apologies to those citizens of Grand Forks, North Dakota. I mistakenly typed Grand Rapids in my post above. I know better than that, but... my typing fingers don't.

You need to listen to what the people and coaches say. Usually, "trip" refers to the whole trip for both games. Departing on Thurs. morning and returning on Sunday morning, or sometimes Sat. night.

The "trip" is not one 5-hr bus ride.

Again, consider how the travel was when games were on Friday and Saturday nights.

Nobody doesn't agree that the travel for the 2 games in a weekend isn't hard, and harder in some pairings than others. What people, and certainly myself, are disputing, is your initial thread/post that the trip from Flagstaff is Cedar City is some incredibly difficult trip. It isn't. The LG made it 90 minutes longer, and still had fun and time to stop for photos. At least parts of the trip, must be very interesting and beautiful.

I simply can't understand why you can't own up to what you have said, and why you feel it necessary to try to move the goalposts so often.

Feel free to point out any post in this thread, or otherwise, when a poster said that travel in the Big Sky generally isn't difficult. You continue to try to argue against something that I don't believe anyone ever said.

Interesting. Because I did in fact listen, and they both SPECIFICALLY mentioned the long bus ride on the nau/suu trip.

But again, they're just some bad fans.

And FWIW, my original post was ABOUT the terrible travel in general, of which the brutal bus ride is just a part, and suu trying to gain a competitive advantage with a ridiculously early tip time, requiring a middle of the night shoot around. I think you are intelligent enough to know this and are just being an ass, but....

Okay, give us some quotes from the coaches, to support what you said.

Again, your original post talked only of getting from Flagstaff to Cedar City, for a "morning" game, which, of course, was not a morning game. Your thread was entitled "So Ut". Your post said absolutely nothing about terrible travel in general. Again, here's your post. Feel free to show where the post or thread title says anything about "terrible travel in general".

"Nice scheduling, BSC. I’m sure it was pleasant getting from Flagstaff to wherever the f*** So Ut is to get ready for a morning game."

I just DID. You must be a bad fan if you didn't attend or listen to the both Travis' and Shannon's coaches shows, or that you haven't listened to Coach Cobb on the Coulter and that other guy's show.

Yep. That was the post. Stand by it completely. So does everyone who knows anything about the game. You know, head coaches, assistant coaches, ADs, athletic administrators, PBP guys, bad fans. The usual know-nothings.

Funny, I'm trying to figure out where in Everett's original post he said anything about a bus ride.

No, you didn't give any quotes/links to what the coaches said. Much of what you say in posts is wrong, so I don't just believe what you say, or think you heard.

But more importantly, there is absolutely nothing in your initial post and thread title that refers to the difficult travel in the Big Sky. You were talking about getting from Flagstaff to Cedar City. That's what you post talked about. And, why would you name a thread about difficult travel in the Big Sky, "So Ut", or whatever it was.

It seems to me that Everett’s initial post was as much about the early start time as it was about anything else, but we’ve had a month lomg discussion about bus rides on the forum. Where did the the bus ride topic come from?
