BIG BIG BIG thank you for all the fun games, plays and highlights from the three of you guys, I'll really miss seeing all three of you guys playing out there, and I wish you all the best in the tourneys, go get another championship for the Griz!!!

MY good GOD i mean My Good KEVIN!!! when he dunked was the perfect senior sendoff..the entire building was on fire once he did, if i drove i would have just walked off after the free throw. Once he threw it down on #20's face i was just like turn the lights off and shut he building down!!!! Thank you Kevin Criswell for an electric finale! :thumb:

There better be an action photo of the dunk in the paper tommorow.

Or else.

It's a bloody shame that John couldn't grace us with his presence on the floor for one last night. He worked so hard over the summer to get as big as he got. I really do believe that he would have been near unstoppable if he'd managed to stay healthy. Imagine him and Strait on the floor together. And Virgil... I know that it must have been tough for him to come back to Missoula this year after the limited action he had last year, but who's glad he did? Between him and Kevin, the Griz had a dreadfully strong backcourt with amazing leadership. And finally Kevin. What else is there to say about Kevin that hasn't already been said. Let's see: walked on and had to prove himself; badly injured, resolve takes a big hit; works hard to overcome adversity and return to the Griz (imagine if Holst had waited to sign him until the spring. Do you think Kennedy would have signed a guy on crutches?); emerges as a freshman phenomenon; stays strong through a tough sophmore year, never giving up and pushing the team himself when Kennedy wouldn't; leading the team through two fantastic seasons under Krysco; and, of course the DUNK. I think that about covers it. I'm going to make a movie about him. Hell, I'm going to start a new thread on the idea.

I believe Holst did sign him in spring, and it was after Holst was told his contract would not be renewed. I heard one of the last things Holst did before he left was to give Kevin a scholarship that he had promised him.

I don't know about Seyfert's deal but I am pretty sure that is exactly what Holst did for Criswell.

Holst was relieved of his duties while the team was all over the country for spring break, long before the spring signing period. Also, I remember talking to Kevin the day he signed his scholarship, and I'm almost certain it was before his ankle injury. That was over 4 years ago, though, so my memory might be a little suspect, but I'm fairly certain it was in the early signing period. He was relieved that he signed it when he did because he was figured that with his ankle, he would have lost his chance.

I could just be way off of course. Those early college years... hazy at best.

Yeah, it was in March after the NCAA appearance that Hogan announced that Holst's contract would not be renewed. Holst finished out his contract which I think was to the end of May. It's a good thing Holst kept his promise and signed Kevin, because Kennedy probably would have given the scholarship to some JC player.
