THANK YOU! Griz Players and Staff

I do not plan to get involved in any of the melt-down, piss-moaning, fire the coach, etc. etc. crap ... beyond three observations.

(1) All Griz fans are disappointed at how the season played out. But we (aside from a few who should "get a life") invested only spare time, $$$ we could afford, and some fan-emotion. So ... life goes on.
(2) The coach is not going to get fired any time soon (so get over it), have his salary cut, or anything else. And he has a Hell of a lot more invested than anyone on eGriz can claim.
(3) The young men actually on the team, and their mentors, are hurting -- legitimately -- physically and emotionally a Hell of a lot more than anyone on a fan board. (And if you do feel that way ... you really should seek professional help.)

So rant away to vent your feelings, but don't expect to change anything. Let's try to enjoy the real playoffs (and FBS, if you like :) ), hope the Big Sky does well, etc. etc. I'd advise people to confine their remarks to players who will be back and might shine in the future, because it's cruel -- and utterly pointless -- to worry about assigning blame (players or staff) for the past.

LAST, BUT MOST IMPORTANT: Thank You! to the young men who represented the University of Montana, on the field and off, so well. For their hard work and dedication, their endurance of real pain and physical suffering, and their willingness to sacrifice a "normal" college experience. (A scholarship may provide some consolation, but the cost often seems totally out of proportion.)

Oh hell, Stitt gloried in impugning former staff and their "divisive" tactics, and departing player's work ethics. He created an atmosphere. He lit the match. It's his explosion. Of course, reasonable people don't expect "change." Engstrom has had nearly seven years to turn around UM's enrollment catastrophe. He'll probably get his bonus. And Stitt will probably now get one too. That's how you guys make sure that its "utterly pointless" to assign any blame. Because in snowflake land, there are no consequences for failure. It is rewarded.

Thanks, I've noticed that you relish laying gratuitous insults on people you know absolutely nothing about. I strongly believe that people are responsible, and should be held responsible for their actions ... well-meaning or not. "What goes around comes around" and if Stitt is the monster you seem to think he is ... it will indeed catch up with him. But when I said assigning blame was pointless ... I meant that literally. Pointing fingers on a fan board may make you feel better, look clever, or whatever ... but it will literally change nothing while contributing to an atmosphere of hostility and bitterness. What's the point of that?

Carry on. :coffee:
