I thought the Big Sky didn't accept 1-year grad transfers

That is why I put the Question mark (?) in my original post...... ;)

I think I got clarification: you can drop down if you've graduated, but can't come down as 1-year non-graduate

Affectionately referred to as the "Josh Swogger Rule".

Happens.

About fifteen years ago, I had two fifth graders in the class I was teaching that were uncle and nephew.

Last year I taught and coached in Appalachia I had two different sets of twins. They had the same fathers but different mothers and were born about the same time. Then, I returned to Montana and found out about the Jessups in Corvallis, Victor and Hamilton just south of Missoula...dang..

Why not? We took in a safety from Arkansas (Reid Miller) just a couple years back for 1 season.

He was a graduate transfer?
Edit* That was supposed to have a question mark. My bad.

Correct.
That’s incredibly stupid if that’s true. What would possibly be the explanation of why that rule is in place?

I had the exact same reaction.

The explanation is very simple:

#bsc.

Family heard back from Director of Football Player Personnel, Lennard Manke. Since they already have a transfer QB they are not interested in Nick. Bummer :?

Our two National Championships were both won with Montana kids at QB if I am not mistaken?

True. Different era now though. Back then FBS quality kids would not even think about playing 1-AA football. Now they do.

It might be different if the transfer QB had the ability to play more than just one year. It would be better for competition and the player could still develop into the system and likely be more effective, provide leadership, etc. I would gladly still take another transfer QB who still had 2-3 years left if it ever materialized and increased the competition at the position. As an example, if a situation like this (or similar) ever presented itself and they were interested in the Griz: https://gohuskies.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=9533
