My kids are super excited for this game tonight. Like always kids want some autographs. How accessible is the team before the game? Any suggestions would be awesome...Thanks!

Before the game? I don't think they would be accessible at all. After the game maybe but they always seem to disappear pretty quick. Good luck and hope they have a blast!

I hope they enjoy the experience, and it is the 1st of a lifetime of GRIZ experiences. Seriously, if anyone wants to make the experience more special for the kids, call the basketball offices in advance. Ask Julie if it would be possible for kids to meet the players and coaches? This staff is very cordial and welcoming, which is an understatement.

With that said, wait an extra 20 minutes near Mick Holien. The coaches and players always make their way out on the court after the game. The only problem with this approach, it depends on how much was taken out of the players and the coaches during the game. I have seen Wayne totally gassed after a few games. I have also seen him be happy as can get, and even more open to the public. If your kids get to see Wayne at his best, be prepared to be impressed for life. Even Wayne at his worse is a good experience.

The best time to get to know Wayne, his staff, and some players are during the team camps and individual camps. He makes himself very accessible to everyone during this time. The man loves to talk GRIZ basketball. The players that work the camps are also very open to getting to know anyone as well. It is great to see these guys when there is not the pressure of big games.

Good luck, and be safe. GO GRIZ!!!

I have a question in a similar vein. At what age would it be safe for kids to attend bball games without me. I've been taking my two boys to games for years, since they learned to walk basically. We make as many games as possible but there are always a few games when I'm out of town for work and its game night. The boys have been hounding me particularly loud this year to let them go by themselves. I've allowed them to go the Osprey games a few times but never anything on campus. Whats the thought?

It depends on how much you trust your kid's judgement, and maturity. It is a good environment. I would not have a problem with kids12 or older going on their own.

thanks mtgrizrule, I think I will let them go on their own. My oldest is 13 and wise for his years, his younger brother is 11 and unfortunately (the wife says but not me) his antics are the stuff of legends during family reunions.

Family won't be there. You have nothing to worry about. Be thankful, "The Zoo" is no longer "THE ZOO". It was crazy and insanity in the 70's and 80's there. I sure would love to see those kind of crowds and atmosphere again.

Oh sure, maybe some of the grizzlie players can give your kids pointers on how to drive drunk without being detected or sell marijuana at a high markup. :bad:

If you're actually looking for role models then get your rugrats dressed up and in church tomorrow morning like a decent father.
