Settle down people, we were a dog in this game and gifted them 14 right out of the gate. Fought back to control the game, which we haven't done on the road for years, and should have won despite a few missed receivers and a fumble by our biggest playmaker.
It's disappointing how this played out but some good things happened with the defense and running game after halftime, we need to clean up the mistakes and we should be ok in conference play. We don't exactly have a killer schedule and could make a run to the playoffs if we play consistent ball, even with our issues on the o-line and Sneed needing to be more consistent or confident or whatever we have enough talent to win the games on our schedule. How many we actually win will depend on our coaching and execution, we're not magically going to turn great in our problem areas so it's up to Huck and Co. to figure out how to make those areas solid enough to win games. This has looked like a 7-4 team to me from the beginning, but we should have won this one as road dogs which we never do, so to me it's a positive even though we pissed it away. It's going to take a little time to get this ship back to the course we want, let's not get crazy with expectations and just get this team into a playoff position, then look out the next couple years when we get back to where we were before.
