taco taco taco, burrito burrito burrito

After getting back on egriz after being away, suddenly all I can think about is a taco. We just moved to a new office and I am like four blocks from Taco John's. Is the food good? No, not at all. But Egriz is making me do this.
Hey grab me some potato oles please...those things rock!
The potato oles are the best part of Taco John's. Nothing else like them anywhere.

Man, thinking about Taco John's takes me right back to high school. Even though we technically weren't supposed to leave campus, the lure of Taco John's was irresistible. But I guess the South avenue location isn't there anymore.

Tex Mex is trash. New Mexican Mexican food is da bomb. Anything with Hatch green chiles...
It depends. Having lived in New Mexico for a long time, I can tell you that there's a wide range. Some of it is excellent. Some of it is just as bad as Taco John's. Lol. The sopapillas were always good though. Nobody in Texas can make good sopapillas.

Admittedly, it's complete trash.

But back in high school I had a friend who worked at taco bell. Every night at closing my friends and I would descend on that place like locusts. They were only going to throw the food out anyhow, so my friend would just load up bags and bags of it for us. Honestly it was mostly bean burritos and tacos made with that mystery meat. But if you're 18 years old and you pour enough Taco Bell hot sauce on top, that shit's delicious.

i'm kinda curious if anyone remembers where 'taco taco taco, burrito burrito burrito' originated. hint - jennifer lopez apparently gets pissed when people say that around her...

Sonoran is the best version of Mexican food in my opinion. The mesquite grilled meats like carne asada are really good.

That Taco John's was once the greatest of all Taco John's. The fact that it could exist so close to the Taco Bus in Dillon is truly a testament to it. Sadly, it is now a Dominoes Pizza and I just cannot mentally accept that.
I hear ya! Mind boggling. JFC! Now I have absolutely NO REASON to stop in Dillon.
