Haha! I think that's right. They had some pretty good hits, but when they came out talking shit about Steely Dan, I had to draw the line.

Ha. I'm 36 and love Steely Dan! Quick Trivia Fact: Before Steely Dan was known as a band, the term referred to a dildo. :)

Some analysts believe the Jags had the top NFL draft. See below. Note that the Jags have their top pick from '15, a DE, coming back from injury, and picked a DE in the 7th. The second blurb refers to Holmes as 4th round caliber.

"Analysis: Jacksonville’s hot offseason continued through the draft. The Jags managed to snag defensive back Jalen Ramsey, whom many considered to be the draft’s best defensive player, at No. 5, and still land linebacker Myles Jack in the second round. Jack might be a long-term medical risk with concerns about his knee, but right now it’s fun to imagine this revamped defense that also includes 2015 first-round defensive end Dante Fowler, who missed his entire rookie year."

"Jacksonville Jaguars

1 (5) CB Jalen Ramsey, Florida State
2 (36) LB Myles Jack, UCLA
3 (69) DE/OLB Yannick Ngakoue, Maryland
4 (103) DT Sheldon Day, Notre Dame
6 (181) DE Tyrone Holmes, Montana
6 (201) QB Brandon Allen, Arkansas
7 (226) DE Jonathan Woodard, Central Arkansas
With seven picks, the Jaguars addressed the defensive side with six of them. And of those six selections, five are in the front-seven. Ramsey was the prize of the draft class in the top-five and if Jack is able to play three or four seasons of non-injured football then he was an absolute steal at pick No. 36. Ngakoue is a hybrid rusher who can be effective if schemed correctly as a subpackage player. Day is a penetrating three-technique who will be a great addition to the Jaguars' rotation. Holmes is a fourth-round value who was available in the sixth, and Allen can be a valuable member of the quarterback depth chart."

No mention of Woodard?! I bet Cen Ark's fan board is just livid! They do have a fan board, right?

The Jags Defensive Coordinator is also a Bison alumnus....Todd Wash played LB for us and was a great player. Jags will make the playoffs this year....book it! Good Luck to Mr. Holmes!

Many in the NFL community have been feeling that the Jaguars have been building into a playoff caliber team... this draft solidifies them "potentially" as just that in 2016. :twocents:

Tyrone Holmes mention:

Never saw him mentioned once in that article. Is it in the video? Couldn't hear it very well.

Yeah you got it, the mention is at the end of the short video (and not in the print article).

And by the nfl network. I was flipping between them. He got shafted...when you're between the first German league player and the other from navy, he had no shot!

Wait, what....? They skipped right over Holmes in the draft coverage? But... but... I thought he played on the main stage? What?

I didn't hear about him getting skipped over. My sources say he was drafted in one of the later rounds. I might've misread it.

Becker & Fagan took that name from the novel "The Naked Lunch" by William Burroughs

If you listen you can hear it
It's the laughter in the street
It's the motion in the music
And the fire beneath your feet
All the signs are right this time
You don't have to try so very hard
If you live in this world
You're feelin' the change of the guard

Edit: nah nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah...

Thanks. I didn't know who the picture was. The conversation makes way more sense now. :)

If you think it's Becker and Fagan, you still don't know who it is. This group was Seals & Crofts. Two of the ugliest guys to every play a note.

It will take the coaching from NDSU alums[Gus Bradley and Todd Wash] to put him over the rookie barrier!

I bet you're thankful that we have a Montana player and coaching alum [Tim Hauck] to mentor Carson Wentz in Philly.

Yeah dog, but those soft rock notes still occasionally roll through the jasmine in my mind! 8-)
