My view is that the biggest key is the qb/receiver combo. QB has to get the ball to the right place, minimize mistakes (turnovers). Receivers have to run the right routes, make the right read decisions, and catch the ball. QB and receivers have to be on same page.

And that, folks, is how you call it if you played the game!

And talk to the coaches.

I find, in my in depth analysis, that the team that scores the most points usually wins the game.

Yes, usually, but not aways. See links to the famous 5th down game.

Well, sometimes even scoring more points can't overcome incompetency amongst the referees.

You mean like those Coastal Carolina refs that erased a play that had already been run? Worst call I've ever seen.

So did they ever conclude that those refs totally screwed that call up or not? I don't remember. In fact I had forgotten about that call until now. Thanks for opening up that wound!

I sure hope so. I'd like to see some 12+ play drives with O lineman FINISHING blocks.

Looking for the d-lineman to cause some major disruption up front allowing the back 7 to force some turnovers.

I remember that. Could not believe it happened. It was like a 30 yard gain also.

Good scrimmage. Team looked good. Both sides of ball, especially offense. Less than complete tackling may have impacted defense, as well as sitting some top players early. Top X receivers caught every ball, including a couple great catches. No fumbles. One pick, which looked like a qb/receiver miscommunication. Phillips looked good. Leg injury, probably a broken leg, for a backup. Nice play from some pupsters later in scrimmage. Dick looked good, and had a nice long TD pass. Some lesser knowns, like no. 85 from Helena, caught a lot of balls (maybe 5 or 6). Chase Reynolds and coach Delaney in attendance. One of the best pre-season or spring scrimmages I have seen in recent years.

Was that the game where the griz had a deep play, ran another play, the refs stopped the game and reviewed the longer play, even after the griz had already ran a play?
