Surprise I think the game is at 6:00 radio on now.

Backer, call it what you will. Leading by as many as 15 is a game you should win. I bet Krysko would call that a giveaway.

I will EG! If you think games shoul dbe over in one half you haven't been watching BB for very long. We had that lead because we were unconscious from 3 land in the first half. and I will take that bet! GIVEAWAY??? HARDLY Tough loss...hell yes,. could we have won? hell yes, giveaway, hell no!

It's a big time collapse when you lose a 19 point lead, and end up losing. It almost makes one empathize with the cats and their experience last Saturday. The GRIZ couldn't buy a bucket until late in the second half. It sure makes the game Saturday at sac important. The GRIZ did make a nice effort at the end, but the hole they dug was too deep. :crybaby:

Backer, I've probably played more BB than you've watched. Please never question my knowledge. 'm not trying to be negative. But if you don't think you should win a game you've been leading by 15, I'm frankly stunned.

Even LK just said, "I don't think it ever should have gotten there".

A strong effort by the Griz, but if you lose the BSC by a game, you look back at this and say it was one that got away. Period.

Don't be so freaking condescending then. I seriously doubt you have either played, coached or watched more games! Most of the postgame wasn't even heard, you forgot to mention the clock and what Coach "couldn't say" over the radio. I fyou know so much you should know what that means. I also never said we shouldn't have won, I just think saying we gave it away is a piss poor characterization. If you want to debate it further like men pm me and I will give you my cell number. Maybe we really agree and it is lost in semantics.

This is a tough league. Maybe some of you expected NAU to roll over and play dead? I was never comfortable with the lead, because NAU can come back in a hurry with their 3 point shooting.

A learning experience for the Griz. Still a lot of b-ball left.

I totally agree with you. Anyone that was in Bozeman saw that. msu shot lights out and built a lead. The problem is you cannot continue to shoot like that. We got away fromwhat we do best..balance. and give NAU alittle credit, it isn't like Sir and Golob are chopped liver out there.

I'm condescending? Whatever.

And yes, I heard the comments about the clock, and they were legit. But that doesn't change the fact that LK stated he didn't think the game ever should have been close. We agree to disagree. The beauty of message boards.

It would have been nice to hear most of the post-game interview. Larry was pissed about the clock, and I'm pretty sure disappointed in his team's second half play. It's really hard to know how much of the 2nd half was good play and shooting by NAU and how much was poor play by the GRIZ. Krysko did seem of the opinion that NAU wanted it a little bit more.

And what do you think LK was referring to when he mentioned things he can't discuss over the radio??? It wasn't the postgame meal.

I agree with that. LK sounded pretty hot about a lot of things he coudn't talk about. When he said he had bulletin board material and would like to play them again right now he is pissed. NAU certainly got after it and maybe they did want it more since we have won there I think 9 of the last 11 times or something like that. Well hopefull we can steal one at Sac.

My guess? The clock operator. How about you?

No he said clock operator. I think he was referring to some calls. You could hear him yelling about some of them. We got charges called down the stretch, Martin takes stitches and gets a no call. If you talk about any of that you are going to get suspended by the BSC. I don't think officiating beat us and yes I think we had a good shot at winning. I jusr don't agree with the giveaway term, maybe yo don't mean it like I took it. Well, we are both Griz and we both want to win or we wouldn't be listening and typing at the same time. My offer to chat stands though, you might find out you are wayyy off on your experience over mine. :thumb:

I am not a happy man right now

BLOWING A 16 POINT LEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just means we gotta go up to Sac and blow them out just for good measure

First off, I just gotta say that NAU fans are probably the most classless I have ever encountered. Every cheer was "so and so sucks", "we hate Montana", etc. Two guys in front of me at the end of the game commented, "Did you get a picture of that airball at the end?" and "Hey that was a nice foul by 12 at the end". Really classy guys, I'm proud of you NAU. Oh yeah, and those guys in the courtside seats were terrible. They were constantly yelling just idiotic comments the entire game. I can understand why Mick made that comment.

Points for the game:

1) We did not play with the defensive intensity needed after we took a 16 point lead in the 2nd half. It almost looked like the guys thought that we had the game in the bag and we started missing assignments on D. They had waaaay too many open looks in the 2nd half.

2) The crowd started to get into the game. It was a pretty good crowd as well. It's like the guys didn't realize the lead was getting trimmed. It was 13 and then 11, 10, 8 and finally 5 or 6 and the crowd is going crazy.

3) The refs missed about 3 or 4 calls on the Griz end that should have gotten us to the line. Part of this you have to expect as home court, but we went on a cold streak for about 6 minutes, stuck at 60 points, and the refs were making it extremely difficult for us to get points in the paint. Worst call of the night: Criswell goes to the bucket, NAU defender jumps in the air, Criswell draws contact and they call a charge. A charge while the defender is in the friggin' air!!! Doesn't that automatically mean that there is no possible way for the defender to be set? I mean c'mon, in order to have position, your feet have to be on the ground. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

4) The Griz clawed their way back and really showed a lot of heart at the end of the game. They never once gave up and they damn near put the game into OT. That's something to be proud of right there. It's too bad that we didn't have another timeout at the end, because we couldn't get a good look in those last 9 seconds.

Overall, NAU is a good team, but not great. They are outstanding shooters when open, but they can be outrebounded fairly easily, and their defense is questionable. They did a good job of defending Strait tonight, fronting him and not letting him get touches. We'll have to adjust for that when NAU comes up to Missoula.

The Griz have got to learn how to put teams away when they smell blood. We let teams hang around and it finally got us tonight. They've got to take the opportunities to close the door and end games. Montana should have had this game over with 12 minutes left, but they got complacent and didn't execute when they needed to. A lot of learning left for this team, but when they put together a solid game - Watch out.

Oh yeah, forgot one point. Criswell made the bucket on the blown charge call and would have gone to the line for the 3-point play. This would have taken the game to 64-57 and ended the drought that Montana was going through. Instead, Sir comes down and nails a 3, and all of a sudden you got a 6 point turnaround to make the score 61-60.

I hate to say it, but in my opinion that official caused the turning point of the game. Officials should never affect the outcome of the game in that way. :naughty:

A side note:

Even though NAU's RPI is low, this loss doesn't really affect the Griz' RPI that much. NAU has a good record and the loss was on the road, so the Griz RPI only drops 0.0065, which will take them to the mid 90's tomorrow.

The bummer part is that this win probably would have moved them into the high 60's.

Another thing I just thought of too.

The NAU students rushed the court after the game. I never thought that somebody would rush the court after beating Montana, so that's kind of cool. It just goes to show you where this program is and where its heading. :thumb:

Wow...3 consecutive posts ripping on the refs, the fans, the radio announcers, NAU players.....

Was there anyone in the gym not wearing grizzly colors that did anything well?

GOOD LORD

Nope. I hate blue and gold.

You can go back to where those colors are acceptable unless you have something of value to post. :thumb:
