There's a superb, quite detailed preview on the University of Montana women's BB program now up at GoGriz. Abby Anderson is the only player quoted, but coach Brian Holsinger is quoted extensively & offers quite a few details about how he expects his GrizWBB team to play this season. Specifically, very positive info on several players and combos:
1. That Sophia Stiles and jr. transfer Katerina Tsineke will command point, at a faster pace. "They've handled the ball mostly and are similar in a lot of ways," said Holsinger. "Both are very athletic players. They are really going to push the tempo and hopefully make good decisions. And both are very good defensively."
2. Seniors Sammy Fatkin and Nyah Morris-Nelson are learning the system very well will get a lot of playing time.
3. Frosh Haley Huard, Lamprini Polymeni and Lisa Kiefer are playing well and will get playing time early (no mention of redshirts).
4. Anderson and Carmen Gfeller were mentioned as no-brainers to lead the GrizWBB (along with Stiles) this season.
5. There have been some injuries and the normal setbacks in learning a new system. A major hint: Montana will play both offense and defense at a significantly faster pace this year.
Looking forward to seeing this team hit the floor tomorrow. Go Griz.
