Super Bowl winning coach fired! Reason given lack of offense

I am floored by this decision. But what REALLY surprised me is that they took the extra step of firing the ENTIRE coaching staff at the same time. (This is borne out not only by the article on the Ravens' website but also by the fact that the entire section of the site featuring coach bios has been removed.) That begs the question of who's going to supervise offseason workouts until the new staff arrives. Either the guy in charge is already set to announce a replacement in the next day or so, or he's a complete idiot.

I'm also interested in finding out what happens to my buddy John Fassel. I hope they consider hiring HIM as HC. He has a history of turning around lost causes even at his young age.
I wonder if Newheisel saw this coming and applied to any vacancy he could. His timing of getting the UCLA job now looks rather interesting

I don't think applying at a prestigious school like UCLA, which is also the school he played QB at, is applying at any vacancy. In fact, I don't know if he was officially a candidate at many other schools. FYI. no school has won more NCAA Championships than UCLA, with 100, yet none of them in FB.
I dont think he was a candidate at Arkansas. I am just wondering if he figured out somthing in advance

I think he has wanted to get back to college FB since the day he was let go at UW. The NFL was simply the vehicle. I don't think hr was interested in Arkansas. He is a west coast guy and you know he can't wait to play UW.

Billick lost the job the day his team became the only win for the Dolphins...If you recall, he kicked the field goal to tie the game when they had the ball at the 1 yard line---

True, not to mention all the other coaching mistakes during the season. He will find another job and do well, the Ravens needed a fresh new approach.

I think Mike Singletary would be a good fit in Baltimore.

I think so too. It seems like in the NFL the head coach is more of a personel guy and leader. MS fits that bill. If he were to get some good ASST coaches he could do very well.

Perhaps. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see Mr. Bug Eyes wait for Da Bears job to open up.

He is hungry and has been passed over so many times that he will jump the first time anybody offers.
