Sugar bomb; 2012 QB edition

We've had some good ones here.

1. Dickenson
2. Edwards
3. Ah Yat
4. Ochs
5. Miller (he would have been the best if he were a little faster and a little tougher)

Top 5 I'd go Dave, Edwards, Ochs, Bergy, Selle.
Huh? You can't be serious. No Miller or Ah Yat? How can you forget the Edwards of 2002 MSU and McNeese games?
1. DD
2. Miller
3. Ochs
4. Ah Yat
5. Bergquist/Selle (pick 'em)

I can easily forget Edwards 2002 of MSU and McNeese from his 2001 'natty and 2000 near come-back win of the 'natty as well.

Edwards wasn't a flashy guy but he got it done and was tough as nails. The ultimate goal for an FCS team is to win the national championship - not just play in it. Considering that I give Dave and John the leg-up over our other prior QBs.

1. DD
2. John NC Edwards

3. Ochs
4. Ah Yat
5. JJ...................................TBC

There was not a year that he played that Edwards was even the best QB on the Griz, but Joe liked Daddy's money. It was the defense that won that '01 NC for us, not the QB. 13-6; huge offensive display.

The Griz were in the red zone 4 times in the 4th quarter in the '00 NC game and Edwards could not get a single score, any one of which would have won the game. Miller would have gotten it done had he not been knocked out of the game.

Can you even find a Griz QB, particularly a senior experience QB, that choked any worse that these two crunch games in '02?

MSU 11/23/02 (at home); loss 10-7
Edwards rushing: 7 for 10 yards; 0 TD; one fumble (lost)
Edwards passing: 8 for 32 with 1 int and 106 yards; 0 TD
Brandon Neill was available; did not play.

McNeese 12/7/02 (there); loss 24-20
Edwards ruishing: 11 for 4 yards; 0 TD, 1 fumble (not lost)
Edwards passing: 10 for 27 with 0 ints and 90 yards; 1 TD
Brandon Neill came into the game briefly and threw for 59 yards.

In my book Edwards rode the bus to the '01`NC and he cost us a '00 NC and a shot at a '02 NC.
But we got the Sprinturf we needed....

Miller was the best passing QB we have seen. Ochs was super; DD in a class by himself. A big dropoff after those three. Ah Yat, Neill, Bergquist and Selle were all better than Edwards.

Kem - Edwards in those games had a seperated shoulder and could hardly lift his arm over his head. He wasn't even a shell of what he normally was and shouldn't have been playing. Many have admitted that Glenn played favortism to him at that point but you can't argue with his showing in 2000 and 2001 (and heck, the 1st half of 2002).

He's the Griz version of Tim Tebow, when healthy, all he did was win.

Kem,
That is a bunch of horseshit. This is the UGMB all over again. I love you armchairs that think you know what happened in that MSU game. You don't have a clue.

All that choke artist did was win us our last NC and then throw for 3,200 yards and 20 TD’s as a senior….and was oh, yes, the BSC Offensive MVP…..but I am sure daddy bought that too.

Edwards record speaks for itself in high school and college.

I just showed a snippet of that record. It does speak for itself. There is not a QB in this discussion capable of such performances; if he was that hurt, he should not have played. We'd likely have won both with Neill.

You showed 2 of his 4 or 5 total losses...........like I said he won more games than any of the guys you listed.
