Students Join Me.

As for me, I was happy to see close to 6k there tonight. Still surprised we cannot sell out a Griz/Cat game though. Fans that sit behind the baskets, FYI, "WAIVE YOUR ARMS, JUMP UP AND DOWN, YELL, GET RADICAL, WHEN THE OPPOSITION IS SHOOTING FTS!!!"
That is what college basketball is all about damnit!!!!

I was sitting across from the bobcat bench in the 1st level. I commented to a few friends where is the fan participation, this is ridiculous, if it does not change I am going to do something. Finally, I had enough. Carlos Taylor went to the ft line. I chanted "Carlos, Carlos" repetitively until he shot, a few others joined in, he went 0 for 4 during that. We did the same to Durr, Disley, and Durham. Disley went 1 for 3 after we started in on him. We said "Hey Brick" it worked. For Durr, we chanted "Carson" he went 1 for 2. Got to hand it to Durham he did not miss when we harassed him. Our group had fun and brought us back to college days.

Point is make it tough for the opponents when shooting ft's. If done right it annoys them and it can be done without disrespect. Rest of the year, get radical behind the baskets when opponents are shooting. It will rial some weaker players. What does it hurt though.

Thanks for the 5,700 that attended the game!!!! :thumb:

The guy in the student section that was harassing Casey Durham the whole game was hilarious.

His name is Noah, and he is always hilarious.

Durham sounded scrappy as hell on the internet broadcast, Too bad he missed some time with cramps he had a good game.
Does he play with that intensity all the time?

Warning this assesment was made from listening not watching the game! So no tongue lashings please, if I heard wrong.

That cramping was more than a little annoying. After the first set it he acted like someone shot him in the leg so he goes down crawling and starts grabbing at the pant legs of fans in the first row.

Yeah, too many people sitting behind the basket. The fan participation definitely needs to improve and I hope it will once all the students return.

Do you honestly believe that a few people yelling someones name has that much effect on free throws? You're probably not the first person ever to try to distract a free throw shooter.

On a side note....from the tv broadcast the crowd seemed pretty apathetic so kudos to you for putting forth some effort.

We will never know will me. Sure does not hurt. Finally, watch most any game on tv, it looks much better when the crowd is participating.

AtHomeInTheDahlbergDen.....have you ever had both of your calves cramp up at the same time? It is very, very painful. You are basically helpless until somebody comes and points your toes. But I do agree that Durham went a little overboard when he was reaching towards the fans in the front row.

I would have to agree that he went a little overboard on the first cramp. I thought he had broken his ankle the way he was yelling and crawling off the court.

Back onto the subject. I am challenging ALL students to attend this weeks games against ISU and WSU. Show up and GET ROWDY!!!!!!!! This teams needs as much support as possible this week. We win 2, we are in the driver's seat in the conference. These are the top 2 teams going into this weekend. This weekend is huge. Comeon Students, "what is to not like about getting rowdy, and giving the opponents hell?" TIme to let lose students. "BRING IT BIG" this week. Time to unleash "THE ZOO" again. FYI, "THE ZOO" is all about being ROWDY and letting the animal out in you on opponents!!!!!!!!!!

Not only get ROWDY but make signs pertaining to the ZOO. Any Musicians out there up to taking "Welcome to the Jungle" to lyrics for "Welcome to the ZOO". Not much time to prepare, but let this be the week that the "ZOO" begins its return!!!!! What say the students? Time to make your mark again students. Have fun, let loose, then go celebrate 2 wins this week. Are you up to it?

Yea... i'll try and do most of that but i'm not too big a fan of signs. We're not on tv and this isn't WWE, they're not necessary. The model to follow here is definitely the cameron crazies, not too many signs there.
