Streaks on the line against NDSU

NDSU comes in with a record 27 game winning streak. Montana comes into the game facing the best defense in the FCS without being shut out in 335 games (going back 30+ years) the second longest active streak in FCS, and I believe the second longest in history. Hopefully we can continue ours and end theirs. :thumb:

I think we're more likely to end their streak than they are to end ours! :thumb:

I would agree.

While I'd like to agree, having just watched our video of the SD game, I'm not so sure. This staff has obviously decided the Griz are a run-first offense. But NDSU is particularly good at stuffing the run. The O-Line made big strides during the week before the SD game, but I'm not sure they've progressed enough to give JJ enough time once we get one-dimensional trying to score with passing. And, since we can't count on making any FGs, where are the points going to come from?

Not saying the Griz can't win, but if we're talking probabilities ... it seems way more likely that they can shut out the Griz.

Unless it comes down to a field goal to get on the board... ;)

I don't like to think about that possibility...

I highly doubt a shutout is possible. No way NDSU holds you scoreless.
It may be a closer game than a lot of people think.

At one time, Montana held the streak for consecutive games at 19 I think. But we went limping into Cheney Cowles with so many injuries that out luck ran out. I remember the EWU fans shouting Overrated! and we probably were after all those injuries. Although we were due to eventually lose, I really hate that it had to be to those asshats.

So, NDSU has won 22 games in a row or whatever. Big deal. It's not like they can't be beaten.

Our longest winning streak is 24 isn't it? We were tied for first until NDSU broke it this year.

Yes we know. It's only been posted like 10,000 times on this board in the past two days

I can't lie, Saturday night at Reds, the thought of being shut out in Fargo crossed my mind. I'm NOT AG1, but I do know the Bizon defense is outstanding, and that UM's offense hasn't been lighting the world on fire yet. However, I have since come back to reality. I don't care who coaches the Griz, I don't care what the play calls are, I don't care how good NDSU's defense is, Montana has too much talent to be shut out in an FCS game. There is no way, with JJ, Canada, Van, Jones and Hendu, UM doesn't score. Does it mean the Griz will stay with the Bizon? Probably not. But a shutout aint happening.

Can someone PLEASE tell me what all the fuss is about NDSU's 23 game win streak? Serious replies only. Thanks! :thumb:
