Very much a team effort to get to 7-1 but although Strait seems be doing this every week I did not want it to be overlooked. Drake was a real test because of how hard it can be on the road. Strength of this team seems to be passing the ball for assists. Seems to be 5 or 6 players on this team that can beat you with a pass. (Does anyone have the information that can tell us if this teams assist to basket ratio is any kind of a big deal??)

:offtopic: Conference season starts with two games at home Jan 5 , 7 and then it is on the road for MSU, NAU and Sac. Based on last years observations winning at any of these locations would be a big deal. :offtopic: Ok I will go back to one game at a time. Montana - Western wed.

Five blocked shots is something new for Andrew, probably a high for his young carrier.

Thanks I had to edit. I missed the blocks and was one short on the rebounds. That is almost impossible. They did not get the ball to him very often in the first half.

Considering the Griz are getting 3 to 5 guys in double figures, this is possibly the best balanced team wearing a Griz uniform.

Strait is just the most consistent shooter on the team.

thanks, i was just curious.

The fact that Montana was able to overcome Drake's pressuring defense on their home court is all the more impressive considering that Drake ranked 2nd in steals among all NCAA teams before Saturday!...What I really like about Coach K. He is every bit as much teacher as coach. How else to account for the remarkable growth of this team with each game?

This team is SUPER deep. It seems like every game somebody new steps up for them. Just a week ago I believed that Virgil was our best player but after the Drake tourney it now seems like Strait is our best player! I see bright things from a basketball standpoint in missoula come march...

Go Griz

Everybody show up on wensday!

The 8 for 8 thing (not to mention the highest % in the Sky) is a little misleading. Almost all of his baskets come from slick reverses or turnarounds. Now that he has a little bulk, defenders are having a more difficult time with him in the post. He used to have to take some akward mid-range leaners that would bonk quite a bit.

I'm still giggling about the three pointer at the buzzer! Has he ever attempted that long of a shot before?

barnball, thanks for the pm. glad you know i wasn't talking smack, i just hear his name a lot and wondered if he was "the guy" this year. sounds like you guys are as deep as i can ever remember. and yes, i'm sorry i asked! lol. anyway, thanks again for the info, and good luck the rest of the way. except for the 2 against the cats of course!

It's Virgil one night, Strait another. You know Criswell will go off every 3rd or 4th game. Chavez has a great FG percentage. He looks good every other game. Sharp had a ton of rebounds in the first game of the year too. He needs to let Strait show him how to bulk up for next year and he should be another good one. Dlouhy has yet to make much of a mark this year, and he is very capabale. Hasquet has done a little of everything. Martin played all 20 minutes of the 2nd half against Stanford and Hernandez, likely his toughest opponant of the year. We have yet to see the best of Mayes and Swift too. This team is ready for the Sky, that is for sure. It is hard to imagine this team not winning the Conference.

Ellis, Swift,Chavez,Dlouhy, Sharp and Mayes has to be the best bench in Griz history.

Good problem to have tournament named Criswell the best player and Dlouhy was mvp of the first part of the 2nd half of the championship game.
