I stand corrected babaloo (actually I am sitting) so I sit corrected! The reason I said what I said in that post is because I think it is ridiculous that Griz fans even bring that up! He has verbalized, which is better than nothing, and I would hope go through with that verbal! Why even put something into the kids brain? Montana's future looks bright but am absolutely EXCITED to have the opportunity to watch another player with the talent of Michael Ray Richardson, Larry K, Derik Pope & now hopefully Kareem Jamar with Will Cherry! I wish next season was here, it is gonna be fun!
 
My guess is that he verbaled because he was not getting any serious looks at the time. The only people getting into his head will be coaches from more prominate programs not fans. Cudos to Tinkle for seeing this kids potential and offerring. Lets hope he signs and seals the verbal. I saw him and another guard with Tinkle last homecoming. I hope the brutally cold weather did'nt bother his mind set. Homecoming a great venue to bring kids in.

Kareem was the second vote getter on the All City team. All City in Los Angeles is a larger grouping of high schools than some states combined....he is getting attention for certain. The Westchester team plays a northen Ca. high school in Bakersfield this week end..should be good....As for a California kid being impressed by a homecoming at Montana..well, homecoming at UM, while ok, is not the show it is on other campuses. At UM it is a loosely organized thing..while at many other schools, honored classes are really honored, the campus alums and students freely mix in special class designated areas, and fund raising is rampant....hard to say which is best, but if you have been to a homecoming at USC, Stanford, UCLA, or any Cal U. the show is very impressive....not sure if it is a recruiting tool....kids around the coast have seen it all....
 
There are only two questions?
Is the kid ready for Montana?
Is Montana ready for the kid?
Both answers have to be yes.

Seriously with the late signing period just a few weeks away, would it not make sense for him or any recruit to tell a program he is courted by whoever, and just may change his mind? As a coach, I would be pissed if I did not have fair warning from a verbal that changed his/her mind. As a parent, I would expect my kid to given program his/her intentions if those intentions change.

That program deserves that much after spending the time and resources it did on the recruit. By informing the program in advance it gives them time to fill that scholarship with better quality recruit than just giving it to a not so good player. At this stage, I honestly feel he will be a GRIZ!
 
Kareem led his Westchester team to their second California state title tonight in what could have been a blowout. The score was only a 5 pt difference, but much of the deficit was made up in garbage time...Kareem had 16 points and, from what I saw, he has the sweetest 3 pt shot I have seen a high school kid possess......the announcers mentioned he was Montana bound, at first one said Wyoming but was quickly corrected....the future if going to be fun.....this kid is for real....smooth, controlled...style....

I bet we don't see them sign on the 14th. Didn't last year's signing date come and go without much info? Not saying they wont' sign, just saying we probably won't know if they have signed for a few weeks after the fact.
 
Dunno bouy anybody else but the suspense is killin me. Not nessecerily jamar but the fact its been close to 2 weeks since we hear about possibly being overscommited and now no news, no names, no nothin. All the while msu gets 2 commits right off the bat. Damn this sucks!

Oh well guess I'm just impatient.
