Stop complaining about the OL and give them some love

"Deep playoff runs" for many who know football and Griz football are home wins in rounds 1, 2 or 3 . In an FCS with about 8 (or 3 or 4?) true contenders most years.

Then, in a road semi or title game.......the Griz will need more physical line play on both sides to compete with one of 3 or 4 teams that will always be there.

And stronger line play on both sides will be the narrative following Griz a loss.
You also are clueless about football. Have you learned the name of our all-American running back yet.

They sure did against North Dakota. I know you're gonna say we won that game so that's proof that they're enough. But you're not going to win many games where you rush for less than 2 yards per carry and give up 6 sacks. We should be using games like those against North Dakota as the measuring stick of how well Montana is able to assert itself running the ball because it's those caliber of defenses that we'll need to beat on Nov. 22 and late in the playoffs
They didnt suck against north Dakota, aside from some blown protections which has largely been shored up. Eli rushed for 5.1/carry, ah yat threw for 300, and we were in game 2 with a brand new coach and system and soph quarterback with an entire new starting receiving core.

Yes, the blown protections were a problem, but those are types of things that are easily coached up and correctable. Haven't seen much of it since, really. Exclude the negative yardage from the big sacks due to the blown protections, the offense produced 400 yds of offense.

If you're brining that game in, yeah Gilman had a solid game 82 yards on 16 carries. But we also gave up 6 sacks and a lot of other pressures. I don't know how those results makes you feel, but I wouldn't add it to my highlight reel
The sacks were largely due to blown protection assignment, and has been largely stored up. I know a few plays that are in my highlight reel... nice little side step pressure by KAY, and a DOT to freshman BROOKS DAVIS to call GAME.

If anybody has a bunch of chicken shit laying around, drop it off and Nic Taber's house. He'll tirelessly toil away until he makes into chicken salad

UM is 7-0 FFS. The offensive line is obviously performing well enough to win. The coaches are doing their job by trying to overcome team deficiencies and emphasizing team strengths.

Dickenson was sacked 10 times in the 1995 championship game, yet UM still won. The team overcame deficiencies in pass protection. No team is perfect and perfection is not necessary to win. But winning is always most important.

There is always room for improvement but why can’t some people simply enjoy a good thing?

If you filter those for conference only games, Montana is 6th in rushing yards per game (161.7), 9th in ypc (3.9) and has given up the fourth most sacks (7). We haven't really faced a defense that we're going to need to beat in late November or December. That concerns me. It might not concern you or others
But playerrep told me you can't filter out games when it comes to stats. Have you even played the game? He has.

Jesus. Here's an idea. How about instead of making stupid comments like this, how about you don't go back on the pod until you act like an adult? It's ok to be critical of the team and disagree, but when you start getting super defensive about it and acting like a child, it makes it very hard to listen to. Maybe start there.

Taber understands the game. You…? You are and always have been somewhat of a neggie. Perhaps you still can’t get your Missoulian time out of you. Ha.

I agree with most of this. We already beat UND, a top-ranked team who could be around at the end. And the Griz beat them when they weren’t playing nearly as well as they are now.

At least Kyle knows something about the OL, the others on here don't. Even if they played the game they dont show it
What does he know about the OL? My info came from the coaches. I will take their assessment over yours and Kyle’s anytime. If you didn’t listen to the coaches, no wonder you didn’t last very long.

UND gives up 2.9 years per carry.

Again, we faced the UND defense. Did you forget that game?

I feel good about the game because the Griz won in a great comeback. You just want to be negative.
