Why do you say that?I think this brings up more questions than answers.

Grading over with grades given by UM analysts and coaches? How do you know that?Because there are certain players who are starting over other players who have higher grades than them, specifically at center. So I question why that is.
I was talking about the PFF grades posted here which I am pretty sure you know. I'm well aware that you believe everything our coaching staff does is 100% correct, but I happen to believe that questioning them once in awhile is actually a good thing. Sometimes outside objective analysis can reveal shortcomings within a staff or a program.Grading over with grades given by UM analysts and coaches? How do you know that?
What is the coaching staff doing incorrectly as it pertains to the offensive line.? We are literally the top offensive team in the conference, 3rd in rushing 2nd in passing. The PFF grades are what they are, but this group is producing. If you pay attention, teams are loading the box. SH was begging the griz to pass, thus KAY almost passed fkr 400 yds. They still almost rushed for 200 against s team that was literally keeping 8 (or more!) Defenders in the box. Hoops is spot on here. The pocket has been great for KAY, and were running the rock. Nobody is rubber stamping, but fan negativity is strange in this area.I was talking about the PFF grades posted here which I am pretty sure you know. Besides which, your original thread title is show the oline some love. I think I am showing love to specific olinemen that I think should maybe be starting over others. But I think maybe what you meant was rubber stamp everything our coaching staff does, which I just can't do. Have a good day.
I think many other posters have pointed out large issues with our run game blocking so I don't think I need to rehash that. I also don't understand why they play Botner at center instead of Klimczak, and the PFF grades seem to agree with me. When Johnson went out with an injury I assumed they would move Botner over to take his place and put Klimczak at center, which are their more natural positions, but that's not what they did. That was what was listed on the depth chart but that's not how they actually played on Saturday and it just doesn't make sense to me. I've heard Colter talk about this a bunch so I don't think I'm the stupid one here. What is the coaching staff doing incorrectly as it pertains to the offensive line.? So who did play RT in Johnson's spot? Freitas?I think many other posters have pointed out large issues with our run game blocking so I don't think I need to rehash that. There are some very negative posters on egriz but I'm not one of them. I'm generally pretty upbeat about our team but I have questions about how things have been done with the o line.
At some point we'll get to play the Dakota States and then our o line will be in the hot seat. We'll see what happens at that point.
Amick, and did well. Highly promising RS FROSHSo who did play RT in Johnson's spot? Freitas?
Weve played north Dakota, and because of reasons nobody knows, griz fans (some) love to assume they aren't good, even though they shouldve beat Kansas state on the road and are currently absolutely knifing the MVFC. Can they improve? Absolutely and they will. I think giving time to a freshman with great upside and potential for improvement is awesome. But calling the unit out, as a fan, in the midst of a 7-0 start...I think many other posters have pointed out large issues with our run game blocking so I don't think I need to rehash that. This is a good post. Realistically, only the coaches can truly evaluate and grade a player. What are they getting from the coaches' tape? Do coaches just send the play cuts? I have no idea what the college levels use for film, I know Hudl is widely used in HS and they can grade out after given formations, but still missing the assignment piece. Was never accurate in my experience."WHO IS DOING THE GRADING?
PFF employs over 600 full or part-time analysts, but less than 10% of analysts are trained to the level that they can grade plays. Only the top two to three percent of analysts are on the team of “senior analysts” in charge of finalizing each grade after review. Our graders have been training for months, and sometimes years, in order to learn, understand and show mastery of our process that includes our 300-page training manual and video playbook. We have analysts from all walks of life, including former players, coaches and scouts. We don’t care if you played.
Each grade is reviewed at least once, and usually multiple times, using every camera angle available, including All-22 coaches’ tape.
YOU DON’T KNOW THE PLAY CALL?
We are certainly not in the huddle, but we are grading what a player attempts to do on a given play. While football is extremely nuanced regarding the preparation and adjustments that go into each play call, once the ball is snapped, most players are clear in what they’re trying to accomplish on each play, and we evaluate accordingly. Of course, there are always some gray areas in football. Plays in which there is a clear question mark regarding assignment, we can defer to a “0” grade and not guess as to which player is right or wrong. These plays are few and far between and since we are grading every snap, missing out on a handful throughout the year should not affect player evaluations. Examples of potential gray areas include coverage busts, quarterback/wide receiver miscommunications and missed blocking assignments."
The coaches record their own All-22, and I would have to assume that is the only film used for grading. This is a good post. Realistically, only the coaches can truly evaluate and grade a player. They have it all cut up by Monday, at the latest. I don't remember if the players get their grades on Sunday or on Monday morning.
