Stitt's Fly Sweep

So here is the play that Clemson could not stop in the Orange bowl. It was given to West Virginia's head coach by Bob Stitt. The coach gave credit to Stitt afterwards an interview which was pretty cool. West Virginia scored four touchdowns off of it alone, as Clemson really didn't have an answer.

Best part:

listening to Gruden and the commentators after the game say they've never seen anything like it

The fact that if it was dropped, it is an incomplete pass so a very safe place

These are the types of innovations and thinking outside of the box that have me excited about the offense that Stitt could bring. I also read where they ran 107 plays in one game (we seemed to average 60 or so this last season), and the QB had 70 passes. Pretty electric stuff. Lots of mis-direction, quick passes, screens and slants.

Fly sweep! Whoa, looks like we got a genius... Stitt happens. Sweet Stitts.

Sick of it.

Already want to throw up. Pleease don't be Stitts. Finger crossed.

The naysayers make me laugh.....

Up until this play, the fly sweep(run this way as a pass) and the variations run off of it were non-existent. Stitt and his School of Mines had been running and passing off it for a couple years before it became a big thing in FBS. Like I said...to hear Gruden say "I've never seen anything like it" was all I needed to know this guy is a guru. Try doing some research prior to posting ignorant responses.

So if Coach Stitt comes to Montana, who will be the fly in our sweep? Treshawn Favors maybe?

well, larry donovan had the triple option; just because its different doesn't mean its good and if you don't have players like they do at west virginia maybe its not so great; your friend, yogi

Hoping a certain fast and electric Ellis Henderson finds his way back to see what that looks like :)

I could see if Stitt was winning national championship after national championship at the D2 level, then I'd be excited. He's not, and therefore I'm not...

I find the most effective fly sweep is when I'm tossing streamers in the fall.

I thought a fly sweep was when I check to make sure my zipper is up before walking out of a public restroom? Of course, I didn't play the game and I don't fly fish.

Too bad we don't have Travon Van for one more year. I could see him being that elusive fly that nobody can get a hold of! :thumb:
