Giving the ball to Nguyen to run up the middle 20 times a game is not flexible...I can't see Stitt's love for Nguyen. He gets one decent run per game. Calhoun needs three times the carries...IMO.
Sending Jones and Henderson up the sidelines every time also isn't working well. When ever one of them breaks off the sideline route and cuts to the middle of the field, they are wide open, hence Jones drop of Simis pass right in the hands....
Flexible...some areas, but not too much...I say he is predictable....yes I know it has to do a lot with the injuries, but....like Blackfootgriz stated; I hope Stitt has something up his sleeve for EW, that Nguyen running thing will kill us.
The only defense getting gassed now is ours...they were on the field an awful lot at ISU.
He has the toned down the offense to Simis level like AZ states. He does try to make things work...the players just have to execute better many of the times.
Time of possession against ISU: 30:07.
And we can't have it both ways: Runs up the middle? Predictable. Runs to the outside? Nguyen can't beat the LB/safety to the edge and our O-linemen can't/don't pull to block. Short of throwing it 80 times a game, not sure what else he's supposed to do. Calhoun can't carry the ball 50 times, and Logwood, Counts & Favors are apparently hurt.
