Stitt's awesome offense

Yeah, I really like MVD, he is a great coach and a great guy, but the MSU job, nor the ISU job were HIS. Not by a long shot. I have heard different things about the MVD interview at MSU, but what I have been told by people I trust is that he basically said, and I'm paraphrasing "I'm not a pep club guy, I'm a football coach." And that he insisted he was NOT interested in touring the state like Krames did. Those things didn't sit well with the MSU folks. And that's OK. MVD is still doing fine, and at Carroll, he gets to be EXACTLY who he is and doesn't have to change for anybody.

Apples and Oranges. What has Central Washington done since Beau Baldwin left?

And, what has Mines done WITH Stitt?

Where were they before he got there. His record there is better than Don Read's were at his multiple stops. He has made them competitive where they were not.

Good point. If Stitt is our guy, I will rally behind him. Just several unanswered questions for me. I don't buy the rubbish that he hasn't moved up because he didn't want to...that is not how the vast majority of college football coaches are wired. But, maybe he has been content in Golden, and Montana provides him the alternative he's been waiting for. But, really...Montana HC over USC OC? If he is hired, obviously next big step is a very, very good DC to ensure no slip on that side of the ball.

What I've read of him it sounds like he has been very content in Colorado and could stay as long as he likes. He "sounds like" the kind of guy who's going to be very particular about his next situation and perfectly happy to wait until he gets it or sit tight.

I have no clue if he's THE GUY or not, but I know he's got several successful FCS coaches listening to him, some asking him to put on clinics. That's more than anybody on this board can say. Will he win? Who knows? Papa Read did just fine and didn't exactly set the world on fire prior to his arrival. I'm ready to support whomever is the eventual choice, although I, like others, have preferences.

Was reading that Pease was our OC in 96.
I was there and there wasn't any better--still a FCS record for points in the playoff vs opponents. 240 (close guess) vs about 16

Look it up.

Hire him

He was my first thought as leading candidate. But I think Stitt would do just fine. And I could be wrong, but I have read elsewhere on this board that Pease isn't really interested. Regardless of the record on that, I think we have several great possibilities and that's a good thing. Hopefully the cream will rise to the top.

Go Griz!
