Stitt today, "When you become a head coach of a team you need to act like a head coach."

It was the last question of their presser today. Phen's post game press conference he brought up a PAT or fieldgoal where his star LB accused the Griz blocking unit of playing dirty. Stitt reported that he was frustrated to hear that accusation so the first thing he did was go back to the game film and watch the specific play. He reported that the ISU linebacker actually rushed and hit the Griz player low on the play which wound up with him being face down on the ground. Meanwhile another ISU player, after the whistle, bowls over Conlan Beaver and falls to the ground in the process and lands on his own guys arm - hurting him.

Had a few other things to say, basically that he doesn't run a team like that and they do the right things. Furthermore the Griz won the game, and they're moving on.

funny, you and others (az, for instance) were applauding strahm's similar bush-league behavior just last week, because he goaded others into penalties. now you guys want the griz to exhibit sportsmanship. i'll be curious to read how you try to play it like you aren't being hypocritical.

If you don't think trash talk is part of the game argh I'd suggest you take up a different sport to follow... maybe not sports at all.

No one can argue that Strahm's behavior on the field crossed the line several times last season. I fully disagree that it has carried over to this year, and that includes the PSU game. I have watched Strahm closely every week. He's playing with plenty of class. I've counted over 15 times, yes I'm keeping track, him helping an opposing player off the turf this season. I've also seen him helemt tap or backslap opposing players about 30 times in the last three weeks. He's smiling, laughing, and playing with tons of sportsmanship, while still being aggressive. Is he talking smack out there? YES. And no matter what coach Stitt says about not talking, players are going to talk on the field. So Strahm talking a little smack makes him different that 1,000 other college football players How? I'll answer it for you. It doesn't. No matter how many coaches don't like it, it's part of the game now. Plain and simple.

Bottom line, anyone saying Strahm hasn't changed this season either is pushing a bizarre agenda against a 21-year-old kid, or, they don't actually watch the games. He got the message loud and clear and has cleaned up his act this season. PERIOD.

I had no intention to really put you into any sort of place, just respond to you.

However, if that's what you're looking for;

- I don't believe I've actually posted anything negative about Dean, the ISU WR. I shared his apology on twitter and told him it's all good and to make some noise this season. In fan posts on here, on MB, Facebook I responded to many posters that the kid apologized for what he did. I didn't defend his actions but hopefully calmed some of the angst against him.

- My prior post on Strahm was that he's gone from the guy that gets personal fouls to the guy that this year has actually lead players into getting them. Do you happen to know what he did or said? Did he trash talk, did he have "trash behavior", or did the players who hit/shoved him late just get frustrated with him because he was playing so well? I'm curious if you have some sort of in depth insight into this or are you just assuming it was "trash behavior"? (Im going to assume you're just making a guess though).

- I've never said I support unsportsmanlike behavior or attitudes.

- My assumption is a mix of regular game trash talk plus him out performing and just physically/mentally wearing down guys has... once this year I believe... lead to the other guy boiling over and getting a foul. If you have a problem with that type of play then I would suggest you don't watch football anymore.

Enjoyed your post. Have noticed Strahm pull opposing players up this year. So, what were the things last year that you alluded to in your first sentence. Just asking; I don't know. And for the record, as I have posted before, Strahm had 2 personal foul penalties last season. One in Cat game, and one roughing passer in ISU game.

I agree, he even helmet slapped the guy who went low on him (earning a penalty). That showed to me he understood it wasn't trying to hurt him just a dumb block. After getting hit low like that it took good composure for sure

Felt the need to create an account to address this. My football career at ISU ended a couple years ago, so I played against the Griz while Stitt was the coach. And I can attest to the fact that they are absolutely a dirty team on the field. While stuff is always happening at the bottom of piles I can say for a fact that Montana and Weber are the two worst teams in terms of being scumbags on the field. I would put them right up there with BYU in how dirty their players are. Stitt claiming his team doesn't talk or do cheap shots either makes him totally out of touch with his team, or a liar.

Montana is always going to be arrogant. They've been the big fish in the Big Sky for a long time and their players have some self entitlement in thinking they are above the law. And that has shown with their team on and off the field.
