"There were 1,000 people lined up for the Griz Walk when the team came out of its meeting, cheering us on; when we were in the Tunnel, the kids singing the song; when the doors opened and we walked out onto the field, there was nothing like that feeling."mtgriz said:Coach said Saturday was the funnest day of his life...
Interest Stat, there ...9
Bob Stitt
Head Coach, Montana
The only coach on our top ten list that isn’t currently an FBS coach, Bob Stitt has never coached in FBS or the NFL and has spent a grand total of one season at the FCS level (as the offensive coordinator at Harvard in 1999) prior to becoming the head coach at the University of Montana this winter.
However, if you were to ask college coaches to give you a short list of the brightest offensive minds in the game, Stitt would probably be mentioned more often than not. As Hal Mumme noted in a 2012 interview with USA Today:
“It’s hard to flip through the channels on a Saturday and not see his influence some place,” said Hal Mumme, who came from a small college background and shocked the SEC with his Kentucky “Air Raid” offense in the late 1990s. “He’s a really bright guy, and people are becoming aware of what he’s doing. I promise you, he’s going to get a big job somewhere. He’s going to get his chance if he wants it.” ....
It certainly worked well last year – his squad averaged 39 points and 520 yards on 90 plays per game last season – and you’re sure to hear more about #StittHappens in the years to come.

He talked about how the 4th down thing isn't reckless, he has statistics that when a drive goes over 7-8 plays, chance of scoring on that drive increase around 38%...
Mentioned that if it's a manageable 6 yards or less, that is when it's worth considering...
Just noticed we only had 5 penalties for 40 yards. Hope we can keep that up. :clap:first11 said:Best thing Stitt did was weeks ago, sitting gamboa. He established focus and discipline from the start, sending a message that team and behavior matters most. Most college coaches wouldn't have the balls or integrity to do same, especially with a huge game on tap.
Noticed that during game our guys kept focus, no stupid penalties, personal fouls etc.

Who still thinks Stitt was not the perfect hire for what the GRIZ need? He is bringing attention to the program and university. He will get a boat load of offensive talent. Gregorak and Stitt complement one another perfect. Gregorak is already showing more aggressiveness and versatility as DC. I can see defensive recruits wanting to be part of this. Finally, our fans made an impact nationwide thanks to ESPN broadcasting this game. We have fans from all over the nation giving Montana props, including fans from the Power 5 conferences who had no idea how crazy and loud a GRIZ is. I have buddies of mine from Nebraska, Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Ohio who all have made it a point to attend a GRIZ game on their bucket list.
As for Stitt, his confidence is contagious to every coach, player, and fan. He has the cockiness and confidence of Bobby Hauck, yet the personality of Joe Glenn. Admit it, Haslam hit a Grand Slam on this hire.
