Stitt back to Mines

And then they stayed and signed with Stitt after the coaching change.

Edit: And there were a number of big O-linemen that THIS place was very excited about signing...many of whom flamed out or ended up injured. But it wasn't like he was just recruiting stiffs. He ended up having to USE stiffs because option A usually wasn't available, but it wasn't like he ignored the position (which is stated so frequently on here).
not to mention that his starting qb was injured for long stretches every year, sometimes for the whole year. that get's hauck a pass on his bad seasons from the likes of kem, but doesn't extend to stitt for the very logical reason that kem didn't like him. wish they would have retained him just so kem could follow up on his promise to disown the university.

When did Hauck get a pass?

The best you have to offer.

When did Hauck get a pass?
whenever one of his starting qb's were injured, by you (i actually agreed with you on those). also, whenever he got beat by the bobs, whenever he's had a mediocre season by griz standards, whenever he had a crappy o-line, etc, all by his egriz bandwagoners.

I think it's at least a little reasonable that Hauck gets a pass for losing to cat teams that went to the semis and the national championship when Stitt lost to cat teams that went a combined 9-13.

so you are giving him a pass...

Not true. I never gave Hauck a pass. Pointing out that games were lost, like SS and Weber, because the good qb was hurt is not giving a coach a pass. It is explaining what happened in the game and what caused a contributed to the loss. Hauck has not been having mediocre seasons, even by Griz standards. Last season was not mediocre. Disappointing, but not mediocre. The o-line has not been crappy. Not as good as everyone wants, but far from crappy. People who understand football know these things.

well, it's better than your endless whiney diatribes about things you don't like.
Guilty as charged. I don't like the whining about decisions made far in the past by a poster who has contributed nothing after Covid and China. Whenever the discussion relates to football you're out of your range. You liked Stitt, you don't like Hauck. We got it.

I think Coach Stitt is a good man and a good recruiter, at least when it comes to WR's--he left Coach Hauck both Sammy Akem and future NFL WR Samori Toure. But while Coach Stitt tried to recruit O lineman, he wasn't so successful there. A lot of his O linemen he recruited from Colorado, for example, were three-star studs on paper but soft three-star duds on the field. ( So why didn't Coach Hauck and O line Coach Germer go to the portal and just load up on 5-7 FBS and FCS transfer O linemen starting on Dec. 9, 2017 ? The transfer portal didn't launch until Oct. 15, 2018 with kids allowed to enter the portal in Dec. of 2018, too late to help Coach Hauck's first 2.0 team in '18.)

During 2018 Brawl, the Shi##ty Kitties so-called " Miracle in Missoula," we had a Sirmon kid from Washington recruited as a LB, that was asked by Coach Hauck shortly after he returned to Missoula to bulk up to play the O line so putting the team first, he did. And if my memory hasn't completely failed me, he went into that game playing our starting LG @ 272 pounds--kudos to him, huge to me @ 145 pounds but pretty puny for a Div. 1 offensive lineman, especially when the SK DT's were like 290 +, so no wonder our O line got blown up on that play on the goal line !!!

Picture this: early September of 2026 or '27, Coach Stitt makes his return to WA-GRIZ as his Div. II Colorado School of Mines plays Coach Hauck and his Montana Grizzlies in a nonconference game. This is not a slam dunk --may not ever happen, but this game pitting former GRIZ HC Bob Stitt vs. Coach Bobby Hauck, the man that succeeded him, could happen and while Mines as a Div. II school would be a big underdog, the game--if it ever happens--would definitely have some buzz surrounding it !!!
