Stitt, 1 year in............

The jury is still out on whether he can take this program to its potential yet, but I've had a lot of respect for him as a football mind for years.

When I lived in Colorado, I watched Mines play Pueblo. Watching both teams warm up, Mines looked like they had disadvantages in size and talent. What I saw that day was a team that was very disciplined, very efficient, and very opportunistic that willed them to a win over a team that was faster and bigger. The offensive play calling in that game was genius. Very unpredictable. Very effective. I know it wasn't there yet last year, but I don't think you can expect that after one season, especially with an inexperienced OL and talented but new QB.

Those who point at Stitt's record at mines have to take into consideration that the raw talent in that program was probably near the bottom in the RMAC. The academic requirements of that school are very steep and the curriculum is very demanding. At Montana his talent pool to recruit from is much much larger.

I don't give him as much credit for the recruiting class. I think more of that credit should go to Coach Green and the assistants, but I am still confident that he was a very good hire.

Can't say those things, Blitz. Those are REASONS.
