MBBALL Stew Morrill Classic

Sawyer is dressed out and will play. Moore is not going to utilize his RS and will play. We needed that 5-day break, the team is getting healthy!

I'm at the game.
I like the depth and versatility in this roster. If and when, Kai Johnson finds his shooting consistency, look out. He gets a lot of open shots, unfortunately, isn't hitting many.

Every player is a threat from 3.
So many guys that can create their own shots or opportunities for teammates.

Pridgen is crazy explosive and versatile.

Lots of athleticism and length for perimeter defense too. I'm looking forward to seeing this unit gel as the season progresses.

Turned on this game with 9 minutes left in the 2nd half and Denver already in the double bonus. WAFJ.

Interesting game. Defense was stifling in the first half but left a lot to be desired in the second half, especially in the first 10 minutes. Then Joe Pridgen took over the show. 23 points and 7 rebounds. Guys a walking highlight reel! Good to see the team at full health. This is a pretty deep team. Just need to clean up some of the stupid turnovers and we could’ve really opened up this game. Utah Tech tomorrow now who’s by far the worst of the 4 teams in the tournament. Lost by 10 to CSUN this afternoon.

I feel missing open perimeter shots is their biggest opportunity for improvement. Turnovers are usually a little high for the 1st month or 2. I'm not too worried about turnovers, especially with the amount of open shots and open lanes this team creates.

I watched both games. UT held their discipline for quite a while, but eventually lost to better athletes. Your Grizz team had the better atletes and more depth. I've watched MSU a few times as well. I would say that UM is way ahead of MSU at this juncture in the season. However, most of the season is yet to come and it all started out this way last year as well. It's going to be a very interesting season.

It will be interesting to see what Travis does with his rotation as we get closer to conference play. Especially if Chase Henderson comes back. I see he had a cast on his wrist. They didn't redshirt him last year so maybe they go that route.

Thoughts on UNC? They look really good as well.

Kenpom has Northern Colorado (133) out in the front of the Big Sky, metrically speaking. He has the Bobcats next in at 167. Griz are listed at 199 and Weebs at 231 followed by the Bengals at 235. And the rest of the Big Sky falls below that 235 line. Fwiw ….
