If Stitt gets fired, does anyone think there’s anyone on the current coaching staff that could be the head coach? I think Selle would be a good coach, but that’s just me.

A step up to OC is next for Selle, he's nowhere near a DI HC candidate today.

This isn't me saying he should or could be the head coach, but if you HAD to pick a guy on the current staff to lead the team, I'd want Justin Green. That guy gets me fired up, I can't imagine how fired up he'd have players. That said, I dont think he's ready for such duties, But its a fun scenario.

So why is he unable to fire up the players with Stitt around?

Hiring a coach because he’s a good cheerleader would be a piss-poor stupid decision.

I just think it would be different if it were his team is all I was getting at. I'm sure he does his part, but he is a RB coach and his message likely is not seen by the whole team like it is by his position group.

Because the head coach talks to the whole team every day at practice and at other times. The position coaches usually talk only or primarily to their position players. Doubt that a head coach would appreciate the position coaches stepping up their team role unless requested by the head coach.

My point exactly. Those who have seen Green speak know exactly what I'm talking about. All this said, I don't think he is ready for such duties, but if you had to pick a guy on the current staff, Green would be my choice to keep the team together and moving in the right direction.

..this was discuss but to bring someone in from the outside such as NDSU/JMU from a culture of
winning and combine them with what we have know..it would also keep the recruits on board..

Reese Phillips!! I know I know too young no experience, I’ve always thought Coach Green is unappreciated as recruiting coordinator, and think he deserves to lead the team.
