First and foremost, I want to congratulate a classy, athletic, and well coached Weber team that beat the grizzlies on our court last night. PSU should take "class" notes from Weber. Weber just did thier thing.
Back to Topic. I have attended a large portion of games over the past years, and I have seen Staudacher play/start quite a few games. It seems, to me, that when a defense has a game plan to blanket Staudacher he is consistently ineffective. Hence Weber State last night. I know they played great defense, and Stauds obviously off, but if Staudacher doesnt score he is just another body out there. Stauds- 24 min, 1 point (0-6 fg's) 2 rebs, 0 assists, ? on turnovers. Once again, I know they played great D. We need more production from a starter. I like Stauds and hate saying all this. I think Stauds would be just as productive playing 18 minutes per game.
This is where the above has led me and I have said it before. Although it is way too late, I really wish Tinkle would put CET in the starting line up and bring Stauds off the bench. CET's #'s werent earth shatttering either 18min,4 pts, 0 rebs, 0 assists, ? Turnovers. In my opion, he plays better defense, and makes the other guys better. CET can drive to the basket and make plays. Who is going to key in on CET? If Teams Key in of Stauds or he is "off" he becomes a passer during play development and thats it. I have heard Tinkle and Mick say Stauds is a good Inbounds passer though
Moreover, if you start CET he will start the point, and it will move AJ back to his natural position. I am pretty sure that would be a good thing.
The Griz and Tinkle are close, they just need a little mending!
Go Griz! Regroup and beat ISU!!!!
