Good call!
1866 in Week 0.
1568 in Week 1.

No bobcats cried after the game......good for a one spot bump.

I guess that means the Griz will drop in the polls when they get blown out in Oregon.

kind of depends. Oregon is considerably better than TT and the griz might actually do better than people think.

Our Griz may not win but I do believe they will hold Oregon a lot closer then MSU and TT. And still a part of me says we got a decent chance. We'll see.

Polls are meaningless at this point.
Good point, but not entirely useless, IMO. I play along with the polls because it gives us something to talk about in terms of "general" FCS. Who looks good, who's trending down, etc.? We get some idea of what to expect in case some of these other teams face a Big Sky opponent at some point.

It also, IMO, provides some well-needed perspective ... in both directions.

The "downers" love to poor-mouth the Big Sky as total crap. And some BSC team ain't so good, I'll concede. But if you watch a bit more in the way of FCS games ... you realize every conference has some major losers, even the might MVFC. Watch a bit of the lower-tier Southland, or most of the NEC, and then you'll see some really, really crappy teams. (And don't get me started on most of the SWAC, no matter how well they draw fans.)

Admittedly, not too many posters go the other way and try to push the Big Sky as some giant powerhouse. Certainly the top BSC are as good as any, but all the decent conferences -- even the Southland, as one example -- have some very good teams at their top and not-quite-top tier. We need to keep them in mind too, at least as competitors for a playoff spot.

So, feeble and flaky as they are, the polls at least give us some idea of where to look.

I agree 100%, I think at some point Oregon is going to realize the Griz deserve some respect and that there are several players on the Griz team that can compete at any level.

Will the Griz play tough against Oregon? Absolutely. But this game will not be close.

The Oline and Dline aren't even close to what they were the last time they played Oregon. It's a chance to play at Oregon, big paycheck, get some more experience in gutting things out, and hopefully everyone comes out healthy and we don't lose any key players....

Here is a question for someone because I'm too lazy to research it. Does North Alabama have a chance at the playoffs this year (per rules?) I ask because I see they recieved no votes in the STATS poll. Even Idaho State got a vote.

Not sure how that works?

They are not eligible for the playoffs due to their transition to FCS.

Thanks. Does that mean they won't be included in STATS poll this year?

I don't think so. They are a "move up" team and not eligible, so that might be why they are not ranked. I find it interesting that Wofford is still higher than Montana and yet they were beat by a rag tag team that had trouble for awhile last year in finding a coach to take over South Carolina State....In Montana, the equivalent might be Northern beating MSU in Lewistown. But SCSU not ranked because of HBCU.
