Stats Poll - 9/2/24

Pollsters keeping the Griz at 4, but then not giving a single vote to MO St. who came to Missoula and kept it close til the end.
YSU did the same thing against #5 Nova and holds #25.

Off to #23 UND this weekend, I feel MO St. will finish above the Sioux in the MVFC at the end of the year if they can keep the QB healthy this year.

Don't care how the wins look, keep dropping the Griz in the polls, who cares, Just keep winning!
Missouri State and Delaware are ineligible for the pole as they are ineligible for the post season due to their transition. I usually don’t agree with Herder, but now that NDSU isn’t just running away with the FCS every year, he has become more balanced. His vote makes a lot of sense and he justifies all his movements.

I will say this much about the poll: I think it's kind of lame to drop the Griz after a win when #1 and #2 teams hold on to their spot after losses. Yes, those were to FBS teams and I don't think they should lose a spot, however If you're going to give them the benefit of the doubt for week one, then that should apply to other teams as well. But what would the pole be without some inconsistency?

From Sagarin ratings:

UM is 86 - 65.32

Mont. St. is 88 - 64.58

UNM is 139 - 53.65

Missouri State is 145 - 51.96

Utah Tech is 228 - 34.26

Maine and Mercyhurst are 205 and 263 (dead last in DI football).

ND and West Carolina are 121 and 166. And Morehead St.

Who cares at this point? It’s the end of week 1, and we are collecting ammunition for the locker room board. There is only one pole that matters and that’s in November. Go Griz, FTC.

Also we know what an idiot Stan Becton is. Check out his vote for this pole. Should make everyone chuckle.

How is Stan Becton so bad at his job and yet he remains employed? Usually only government workers can be that incompetent and still have a job. It's mind-boggling.

If your going to punish SDSU for playing a top big12 team then no one will play good FBS teams. The poll is based on how teams performed. SDSU did fine, NDSU nearly beat Colorado, MSU is the only FCS over FBS, and gris barely beat a team that has never made it past the first round in the playoffs. Gris deserve to drop after that performance

I don't care what you think about anything. Go away.

I hate to see us below the scats but am ok with it..first weeks poll means squat..5 weeks from now we will be a solid 2 in the poll.

Question for you guys… if the gris did lose (yes I know they won) where do you think would’ve been a fair place to put them? Also if they dominated where would’ve been a fair place to put them?

if we would have lost I would say we take a big tumble down the list if we would have blown them out I say we would be 2, but neither of those things happened..

One of the preseason polls had them receiving votes, so I assumed that wasn't the case.
Makes sense if so

They are definitely ineligible for the playoffs, but I thought they could still be ranked. The Ivy's can be ranked even though they don't participate in the playoffs.
