Yeah, I didn't catch that Eastern dropped a spot. Ouch. Shows what the pollsters think of the Big Sky this year. I don't see more than two teams making the playoffs this year.

Yeah a bit odd, I didn’t think central Arkansas would jump Eastern, and I thought Sam Houston would fall behind Eastern, Big sky doesn’t have a lot of respect, but we don’t have many quality wins outside the conference either…

You guys getting rolled by NDSU didn't help. But the Griz have 3 quality wins, especially Savannah State and Valpo! :thumb:

Is it just me, or who else hates looking at these polls? It is upsetting, disappointing, and discouraging seeing so many teams rated ahead of the GRIZ. I used to get those feelings when the GRIZ had a handful of teams to climb, throughout a season. But to have 6, almost 7 handfuls of teams to climb, that just doesn't right in GRIZ NATION.

I also remember a time when people also used the polls to rip Griz teams, saying they shouldn't be ranked as high as they were and that they only got ranked because of name recognition. That has happened repeatedly on Egriz over the years. So, with some posters, they're never happy and will bitch no matter what.

Yeah a bit odd, I didn’t think central Arkansas would jump Eastern, and I thought Sam Houston would fall behind Eastern, Big sky doesn’t have a lot of respect, but we don’t have many quality wins outside the conference either…

If you can't tell I was kidding I can't help you....but I'd rather pile up mediocre wins than quality losses like our scat friends to the east.

And that's a knock on Montana how? The Griz have only played five games. They were NEVER EVER IN A MILLION YEARS going to beat Washington, and they lost by seven points to the FCS No. 10 team in the country, and their only losses are to Texas Tech and North Dakota State. Rip on the Griz for a lot of things, but this banter about the Griz have only beaten bad teams is plain stupid. They play the teams they're scheduled to play. They have no control over how those teams do in their games that are not against the Griz.

Why is that a travesty? They noticed the results of the Weber/UCD game; you apparently didn't.

31 and 32 in the Stats poll. Undefeated Yale and undefeated dartmouth in hanover this weekend. Not sure dartmouth has the horsepower this year but who knows.

As I have mentioned, back in the day, 61,000 saw the 2 D-I ranked teams battle in the Yale bowl. Despite 2 future nfl players in the backfield, including Dick Jauron, with Calvin Hill graduated to the Dallas Cowboys, Dartmouth’s D shut out Yale, and went on to win the Lambert trophy as the best team in the East and be ranked 14th in the nation. Condolences to Penn St, Joe Paterno, Franco Harris and Lydell Mitchell. At least, Kem is old enough to know what I am talking about. By way of reference, Calvin Hill is Grant Hill’s dad, and is “Calvin” in the Doonesbury comic strip.

Not ripping on the Griz. But pollsters do look at such things fair or not. Also come playoff selection time that number matters as it counts towards strength of schedule. Was just pointing that out. Until the Griz beat a team with a winning record or ranked in the top 25 they will not see significant movement.

Yes Weber butchered them and I di miss that game. Only seen the wins which were impressive, and did not realize Weber shwacked them that hard.

Exactly what I was thinking. I miss the days when we used to argue about which southern team would have to come to WaGriz for the playoffs. Now we're all giddy about possibly cracking the top 25 someday. So sad....
