a little surprised overall but I am glad we stayed as high as we did. Next week should shake things up a bit more as the mrvc has some top match ups.

Interesting. The pollsters basically swapped positions between EWU and the Griz, which is no big surprise. Otherwise, most of my guesses were pretty good: ETSU at #12, North Dakota dropped to #13, etc.

But I see two big surprises. First, the pollsters not only did not drop New Hampshire out of the top-25, they rewarded them for hanging so close in their loss to #3 JMU. Then they rewarded Stephen F. Austin for doing the same against #1 SHSU. Hardly ever see that … but I have no problem with either one.

They did drop Richmond, which I expected. I thought VMI would survive, but they missed being #25 by just 4 points.

Seems about right. Not surprised they only dropped two spots. Lots of season left. I wouldn’t want to be Dixie St. this week.

South Dakota State is better than Sam Houston. I watched their game bs SFA, and I was not impressed. JMU didn’t look great against New Hampshire either. NDSU squeaked by IND! Bottom line, it’s gonna be a great season in the FCS!

I’m ok with this. Eastern didn’t exactly come out of the game injury free, their WRs took a beating and I have a feeling they are going to drop one along the way.

I think they are down quite a few players..I listened to the post game presser and Best said something to the effect that one of the starting o lineman was injured and did not play which he said nobody knew about and I know they lost one during the game. They usually find a way to choke...Also saturday's game will give some good game film on them..probably has not been a lot of good film to see what works against them..

actually on the whole the 'Sky rose...
Yep. But we're soon to eat each other, because Weber's prospects do not look great: After a bye week, they get Montana State at home, then go on the road to EWU. WSU thinks that their #1 QB, Bronson Barron will be back for that game. But even if he is, he'll need to knock off some rust, so their chances are still not exactly rosy. Another loss, and Weber is gone from the top-25. If they do upset the kitties, then MSU will take a hit in the next poll.

Hopefully, the rest of the Sky can cruise next week, barring letdowns. EWU gets NoColo, so they should be all right. We certainly hope the Griz come out with their hair on fire against Dixie (but no guarantees), while Davis is at ISU. The kitties get Cal Poly at home.

The rest of their schedule : Northern Colorado, Idaho, Weber St, MSU, UC Davis, and Portland State. I do not see them losing any of those besides perhaps MSU or UC Davis. Both will be high scoring shootouts with the last team to score wins.

Craig Haley pointed out something I hadn't noticed: SHSU "beat out" SDSU for the #1 spot in the poll by just one point, 1201 to 1200. Those two lead #3 JMU by just 36/35 points.

The "eye test" (how you win) could play a big role in the next rankings. Looks like SHSU gets a cupcake (Lamar), while SDSU gets #8 SIU and JMU gets #11 Villanova. Now – "any given Saturday" – either or both could lose, but that's unlikely since they're at home. So, unless the Bearkats runs up a huge score on Lamar, I'd expect either SDSU or JMU to move ahead of them next week.

Very happy with where we landed. Our remaining season gives us lots of time to recover and rise again.
