Well, the Griz did go down to #11 … still not bad. One bit of slightly good news, the pollsters did not jump Jackson State (but they’re still way too high) ... just noticed that they still got one first-place vote. Kick that moron off the poll panel!

The idaho loss sucked because our team just looked like crap

Sac state loss stings a lot more because we should have won that game. we were in position to, even with our starting QB out. It's just plain old shitty that we lost.

now we go to weber without our starting QB. This team just can't catch a break. I guarantee they won't be throwing in out of their own endzone 4 times for safeties against us.

It was not the poll-guessing blood bath I was afraid of … with only a few big surprises. The Griz dropped one more than I guessed, but still within my general rule of thumb. The first big surprise was that Weber State didn’t drop at all, although they are now tied with Holy Cross. (Ridiculous: Weber would pound HC) That’s pretty good for the Big Sky (and deserved, IMO).

The second surprise was how far the pollsters jumped New Hampshire. I figured they might drop Elon out of the top-25 (thank goodness for weasel words), but they bounced UNH all the way to #19 (I guessed #23). Leading the CAA with an undefeated conference record obviously counts for something.

Not sure what the pollsters had against UT Martin. Yes, they lost badly to FBS #3 ranked Tennessee, but: Down three spots? Ouch.

That's the odd thing that Weber State didn't drop at all, but Montana dropped 4 spots. Both teams lost on the road, yet Montana I would say had the "better game" up until late 4th quarter.

Not a whole lot of movement in general in the top 10. Nothing earth shattering. The hard part about ranking the Griz any higher is that they are now on a 2 game skid with one loss to a previously unranked Idaho. Weber’s only loss was to a highly ranked Cat team in a fashion that can only be described as “wacky.” Our game ended in OT against the number 2 team, so it was a “better loss,” BUT that Idaho game is still dragging the Griz down.

My guess is that it took some poll voters another week to digest the Idaho loss.

My view is that pollsters just focused on the 2 losses, not on who we lost to and how.
My thought too. Winning streaks and losing streanks, even "streaks" of two games, do seem to get the pollsters attention. Still, they did take into account the high-ranked opponent, or the Griz would have dropped more.

Yes...and Idaho at 14 right now makes no sense to me. I realize they were unranked, but there is little other logic to ranking them below the Griz.

I finally lost all confidence in these polls.... How in the world is Idaho ranked lower that the griz?.... the better question is how long will the Griz powerhouse teams of 20 years ago continue to help their mediocracy today?

Liked your prediction as well. I still think Jackson St is rated too high. Losing in OT to #2 is not worthy of a further drop. Tough weeks ahead, depending on the health of Lucas. This is not a perfect team by any means, but I get tired of the the many posters who have lost so much faith in the the team.

If we win out we will be in a good position to get a top 8 seed, given that would take beating Weber and the cats. that would also be 4 in a row win. Tall order but doable.
