STATS FCS Poll (Oct 10) – Griz #3

The pollsters hammered Delaware more than I expected ... out of the top-10. They also moved Rhode Island in, rather than New Hampshire … even though UNH is ahead in the conference standings. Strange.

You know, I suspected the pollsters might pull a crazy this week … and they did. Several of them, in fact. Mind you, I got twenty or so on the nose or within one or two spots. But the misses … ouch.

Delaware was obviously going to drop. However, I thought they would stay in the top-10, since they lost to a ranked team on the road. Nope. Then the pollsters jumped William & Mary ahead of them and well ahead of Elon … even though W&M lost to Elon a couple weeks ago. Go figure.

I correctly (and easily) figured that Missouri State and EWU would drop out, and I guessed that they’d move New Hampshire up. Nope. Rhode Island got the nod, even though they are 1-1 in conference, while UNH leads the CAA at 4-0.

My other replacement was Fordham, and I at least got that right. But how did Austin Peay, which didn’t even play, get moved to #24?

Maybe Austin Peay is the new UNI?
