Looks far more realistic than the coach's poll.

Wouldn’t you think they’d have a good idea of who’s who at this point? You scout all these teams, you know other coaches. You at some point probably tried to recruit their players for various reasons etc… why is the coaches poll so off?

Those ten losses by ranked teams made just as much of a mess as I thought it would. The less said about the bottom of my guesses, the better. Still, with two “expected” exceptions, I did pretty well down to #21.

The first exception was SE Louisiana, which got hammered down to #14. I had guessed #10 because they lost by only a FG on the road against a ranked opponent. At least I semi-called this one: “This could be one of those cases where the pollsters dish out extra punishment compared to the past.” Well … they did.

That was similar to what happened to Southern Illinois, which got pounded down to #15. I guessed #12 because they lost to a pretty good ranked team. For that one I said: “Their support in the polls has always seemed somewhat soft, so I could even see them go a spot or two lower.”

Aside from that, it was nice to see Sacrament State finally get a good bump in the rankings. Oh, and it’s good to see Northern Iowa dropped closer to where they belong. Of course, many would argue that, at 5-4, they shouldn’t be in the top-25 at all … but the pollsters clearly don’t agree.

Wow! Griz are way overrated at 9, every decent team the Griz have played this year they lost to. Really think they should be around 16 or 17.

UNI is an anomaly, they can beat anyone in the top 25 and I mean anyone. They can also lose to anyone and they have done both. Beat SDSU, SIU, Sac, but still have 4 losses. If I was a fan I wouldn’t know how to feel.

So, we lost to two top 12 teams by 6 and then 7, were missing our top 3 RBs for both, were out our starting QB for the second and that's why we should be 16 or 17? Also, are you saying Washington wouldn't beat the majority of the top 10 (the Cats lost to Wyoming...).

Lastly, you realize the Cats have one win against a team with a winning record as well?
