No, other things are more important. Not mediocre. Playoffs, playoff wins and post season rankings are more important.

The team's goals list nothing remotely close to post season rankings...unless it's number 1.

Win the BSC
Beat the neighbors
Win the Natty

Those are the goals...not to be entrusted to the timid, weak, or....yes, mediocre.

The mediocre team accomplished zero of the team goals. That's just a fact.

I care about the other 3. Conference rank, unless first, is just plain dumb.

Cool, Hoops is happy with 6th in the BigSky! Being 500 in conference matters to most sane Griz fans. Getting dominated by the Cats matters to most Griz fans.

If you want to succeed in the playoffs, the best route for doing that is succeeding in your conference. And I guarantee if UM had won the conference you’d be touting it as an accomplishment (because it is).

I don’t think it is delusional Griz fans at all. I think it is the case of an ego-centric HC that is convincing the AD that it is under control, and the AD drinking the kool-aid. After all, the money keeps coming in for the upgrades, kids are getting the grades we asked for, and we made the playoffs because just about any football team that fields a team does. We are flat-out content being mediocre.

The Griz aren’t mediocre. Some Griz fans are.

6th place in the conference = mediocre = to very good.

I agree with you that this season was pathetic because we only won one playoff game. Bobby and the rest of the bully buch were pathetic.

I mean I think we have 30 plus in division 1 playoff wins and Sac State has one in school history. I’m sure that has everything to do with playing in the first round.

If you’re referring to the last three seasons I believe we only played in one opening round once (2022). While we notched wins in 2021 and 2019 in the second round off of a bye. Sac made the playoffs all three years with a bye and had a record of 1-2.

Right, and no one can take that away from them.

But if we're constantly comparing records of other teams to ours, the idea that their record would be more acceptable to our fanbase than what we had in the same timeframe just seems incredibly farfetched, to me. So acting like "at least they did x, y, and z" doesn't matter because that still wouldn't be good enough for the fans calling for Bobby to be fired right now. As I said, they'd only be shouting louder.
